You just need ideas, imagination and good backtest software (recomend amibroker).

We are talking about trade rule trading systems. Not trading style that might depend on intuition and observation of the trader. Maybe the previous post about 10 years is related with this. Doesnt apply for sure to hard rule (coded) based trading system.

That number is completely arbitrary. If it takes 10 years to develop a trading system means that you are always tweaking it and overfiting IMHO.

No one would sell a profitable system. Even if they do, It's a barebones setup without the tweaks and optimizations required to make it profitable. I made my first profitable system after weeks of backtesting different markets and forward testing for months. It's a breakout system, alpha comes from position sizing.
My suggestion is to take ideas from books, blogs, courses which match your trading style and psychology and modify them for the markets you trade.
Simple trade setups are better (1-2 conditions) and always remember 'Whatever is common knowledge wont make money...whatever makes money wont be common knowledge'.

Like all other stuff in life. Study and try to follow best practices. In the end almost trading systems Will fail One day. Thats why you have create new ones, diversify, and try to develop method to identity when one system give signal that could fail and replace or at least aside.

You should develop your own trading systems and do your own robustness methods and validation. I would never trade other people trading systems. That doesnt mean that i cant incorporate some ideas from other people

I bought it. Its cool but you could develop same framework with amibroker and Excel creativity.

I bought all the courses from unger.... They are good to learn some new tricks about trading system Development. But you Will have to do your work.

He usually deliver what you order but take lot more time than he says Will take. If he cant deliver he refund your money.
For example order three courses from him more than 6 months still waiting for One to be delivered.

Anyone know how to code this three performance metrics in amibroker?
Tail ratio = percentile(returns, 95%) / percentile(returns, 5%)
Gain to Pain Ratio = Sum(profits) / Sum(losses)
Common Sense Ratio = Tail ratio * Gain to Pain Ratio
