Two of us here (now 3 I guess) have confirmed that this version of TG RT in this thread works 100%. The whole thing works fine with eSignal and RealTimeData.

Like I said before. I have installed this on 4 computers, and have installed/uninstalled it many many times, and changed data providers.

As long as you have a real paid for data feed this program will work.

There might be a simple solution to it. The username and password dialog is supposed to pop up every time. You should just choose "Work offline". If it does not allow you to do that, something is wrong. If I have understood your situation right, that's it :)

ohhhh. So Ive prob had it right the whole time I just didnt know that the user name and pass was supposed to pop up.

So after the user name and pass pop up I hit work offline and it should work?

So this for EOD use? Is there no real time use of this program?

ok so, I uninstalled with Revo uninstaller, then installed the 8505 clean. Then I updated to 8800. Then I copied the 8800 patch files over, rebooted then tried to open ts and it still asks me for a user name and password.

Thanks Aedii. I have a TS9-Patch_8800 with the files in it. But I dont have an 8800 update. I only have an 8816 update. Can you please link me to or tell me where to find it?

When I installed this, copied over client.dll misc.dat and wowrt.dll, and then ran the patch, it asks me for a user name and password.

What am I doing wrong? If there are instructions on this forum somewhere can someone please link me to them?

Sorry about my apparently lazy request earlier - I was getting this thread confused with an earlier one regarding TG RT v4..

 

Anyway, for those interested, I got it working too. I installed it through Revo so Revo has the installation logged and will thus be able to easily uninstall it if it barfs in the future. It was necessary to unplug the network connection on startup but it quickly jumped to the regular TG window and now works perfectly with my eSignal feed.

See! Exactly as I said to do it too. So like I said. If your like me and have been wanting this program, you should download this one and save it. This program is SOOO hard to get without paying 6K for it.

At first I though that there was a problem with eSignal shutting TG down after a while. But Im pretty sure now that everyone problems are from not following directions and/or not having a real paid for data feed.

And the best way to get a data feed is to get a deal through your broker.

eSignal offers a few different deals for my futures broker. All you need is to have a funded real account with them. Each brokers deals will be different. The broker I am refering to now is a futures broker. So eSignal offers 2 good deals with them.

1 is ALL electronically traded futures for $129/mo

2 is just the emini ES and NQ for $65/mo

You need to call your broker and ask them if they offer any kind of deal with eSignal. Id bet they do.

Just call them and ask for the trial for $1. They have done it for me twice now. And when you first start the TG program it tells you that there are two data feeds, realtimedata and eSignal, and it will say $1 trial by eSignal.

so even if its not on they're site they do it.

Actually there are a few versions of TG EOD floating around the internet that work fine. The EOD version has always been easier to find and therefore I assume easier to educate.

The RT version is what were talking about here. And the RT version has been the one nobody could ever find until recently. And the version which has all these problems for people.

Im pretty sure that the EOD version does not have all these problems so you should look for it. But to answer your question, yes you can open Metastock format EOD charts.

This TG that was linked in this thread works for real. I would get it if the link is still good and SAVE it.

I looked forever and couldn't find any RT version that works.

This version here has worked fine for me with BOTH data feed providers. And I have uninstalled and installed and changed the provider a bunch of times. This one works for real.

I dunno why so many of you are having problems with it. I think that if someone read the ENTIRE thread, downloaded from the right link, followed all of the instructions in this thread for installing it etc, and have a PAID FOR data feed, then I think there would be no problems.

I'm pretty sure that everyone's problems here are from not reading the instructions in this thread, and/or not having a real data feed.

This program is almost 6K if you were to buy it. Here all you need is a data feed. Is it really that expensive when you think about what your getting? You can get a trial from eSignal for $1 for the first month.

As you will read. I have had TG running perfectly for months now using RealTimeData. I just recently signed up for eSignal so I could use it with some other programs and TG is now working perfect with eSignal as well. I did have to completely uninstall TG, then reboot, then re install.

But all is good.

Just letting everybody know that my TG still works using realtimedata.

I have some other programs that I want to use but which do not support realtimedata. They all support eSignal though. So Monday I am going to sign up with eSginal and see if I can get it to work with this TG. I have a feeling it will work. I havent had any of the problems that are listed here except for the all black charts which is easily fixed.

I will let you guys know Monday or Tuesday how it goes.

I've installed TG a few days ago and have experienced the same problems.

Changing the colors to something useful was no problem, but I still don't get any information on the different indicators. They're shown and if you click on them a popup for the indicator explanation comes up, but no information in it, neither signal number nor text explaining it.

that happened to me. I fixed it by uninstalling completely and reinstalling.

you guys do know that even though your using a program like Revo Uninstalled to remove the program completely including registry etc, you still have to reboot after you uninstall and before you install.

When you open the program you have to select a different data provider then restart TG.

To change it you open TG, then click "Data Feed", then select "Change Data Provider". Then you change it and restart the program.

My setup hangs during installation, during running at downloading file 47 of 198 (rtdsymbollist.nx1) at 394 KB

ATTENTION EVERYONE: If you DO NOT have a subscription to a data feed (a real one you pay money for) with either eSignal (not confirmed working with this cracked version) or with RealTimeData who I have and confirm it works, then state it in your post.

I have the feeling that most all of you are complaining about some problem or another when it DOESN'T MATTER because it is not going to work at all without a a data feed.

You can get a trial through both eSignal and RealTimeData . Or you can order just one cheap market and try it. If you are really trading then you shouldn't have a problem with this.

I PAY for a RealTimeData data feed for US equities and e-Mini futures, 50 MB broadband at my house, a 15" VAIO that I use exclusively for trading away from home, an air card with unlimited data, 2 30" Gateway 2560X1600P monitors , an iPad 2 3G, and an iPhone 4 with every financial market app worth a damn, and probably $50-75 in other subscriptions I pay for every now and then or monthly for news feeds, and such.

Trading is a business. You need things to operate a business.

I got mine working again. I dont konw what happened but basically I just uninstalled it with Revo Uninstaller, then reinstalled it like I did the first time. All is good again. Working 100% again. And I have a real realtimedata feed. Costs me about $60 a month for US equities, and all of the e-Mini's real time.

Well I woke up today and opened TG and its different. It loos like it updated itself to a new version. A couple things look new to me but Im not sure. I was able to get some charts up but everything was black. This is also a prob with some cracked versions. Basically all of the colors are black.

You have to go into the settings and change the colors back to normal. Bar up = green, bar down = red, chart backround white, etc, etc, etc.

But.... Now all of the signals (triangles that you cliick and it tells you the signal, such as no demand, etc.) they dont show anything. nothing at all.

Any one else who has this working have the same problem?

Or does nobody else have this working?

I am not a coder but anyone can tell after using this software that there are alot of things that appear not to work right or just plain dont work. I have a friend who actually REALLY BOUGHT TG RT for $5,000. His does the same **** as this one and has the same flaws.

So its not the educated version. TG is overall created very poorly.

On a positive note, TG now offers add on subscriptions to various charting software. For exapmle. You can get TG RT on sierra charts for about $80 a month. It is the same as having the full blown program except it doesnt have the volume thermometer.

I know most of you will not want to pay anything for it but if you wanna try it out thats the way to go if you cannot get this educated version working.

Look people. This thing works. I have had this TG RT working since it was posted. It still works fine for me.

I use Real Time Data.

Your talking about a program thats $5K. The least you can do when you get it for FREE is to pay for a data feed.

If your really trading that is.....

I dont have anything to back this up but after trying many many many TG RT educated versions with eSignal and other data feeds and methods I really am starting to think that TG has something going with eSignal and can remote shut down educated versions.

Now that I use Real Time Data its all good.

And if anyone is wondering, Tg is not what its cracked up to be. It is a good tool for learning VSA but not for trading using it. TG does NOT give signals. If you think so and try to trade off of it you will find out for yourself. I trade (live with real money) futures (e-mini's, etc) equities, and equity options. TG doesnt really offer anything in real time trading. I do like the diamond stops, H stops, and auto S/R. But I wouldnt even pay $500 for TG. Its not worth it.

It is a learning tool.
