I tested both 1.4n and 1.5 with conservative settings. On Nov. 22-23 the 1.5 blow up the account. I'm curious why this happen and this happened to anyone else?

 

Edit: Now I tested the 1.5 with 1.4 setting. It's not blow up the account anymore.

Was somebody backtested it in 2008 aug - 2008 nov. With conservative settings it kill the account.

What kind of settings can I avoid to kill my account such a market environment?

Portfolio usd cad each which is at a loss .. you too? USD CAD seems to be the black sheep

Are you using Auto GMT offset or manual?

If Auto, maybe have problem with your broker server time that make auto calculation incorrect.

That is why I suggest better use manual GMT offset, and even better if you do backtest with + and - 1 hour than suggested by auto gmt_offset and see which one give better result.

I used autoGMT, because it show me the correct GMTOffset, that give me the best results (This is +2 on fxopen, but for example megadroid and primeval shows +3, and +3 give the best results them)

I'll set up to manual +2, to avoid incorrect calculation. But if I don't think wrong, if it is a problem with my broker server time, than it'll not solve this.

My trades are opened in 23-24 for 3 weeks (I'm in Hungary, so my time is same as you), but yesterday night kain not opened trade, but today at 13h it opened usdcad. That's why I asked that maybe Kain gone mad. Although I'm happy with 35$ profit, but I think I have to monitor or recently restart my kain, because it can lost the thread.

I use kain on live accout for 3 weeks with very good result. About 11:01 GMT, kain opened a position in USDCAD. Is this normal, or kain gone mad?

I have 2 question if you can reply with your experience.

 

1. Do u know which broker Forex-Megadroid people use. I want to replicate their results published on website. With best of my knowladge they use broker with GMT offset -4 or -5 and commission is flat $8 per trade. I donot know broker will have this setting. They donot use any broker like IAMFX , JADEFX, FXCM, Alpari. I am making this conclusion based upon their trade time i.e. 16:00 Hrs to 18:00 Hrs as per their statement. and if megadroid trades from 20:00GMT or 21GMT this translates to -5 OR -4 GMT offset.

 

2. Also do you think they have switched agressive setting off. Recovery is off thats sure.

 

Problem is that my trades are lesser than their trades and donot macth 100%

 

We asked them previously, and they use ATC Brokers. GMT -5, -4 depending on DST, and 8$ comission.

Yes, it can be because of the summer. Most of the big traders are on vacation. Be careful when the autumn starts.

 

What is "300/300"? No trade minutes before and after the news?

 

Yes, in high impact news option.

What do you think of the whole-day trading, with the "XE" version on EURUSD? I tested for 3 weeks in demo, did 60 trade, of which four were SL. Using live for 1 week, but all was trade did profit. Perhaps because of the summer season?

The news filter is only filter high impact news with 300/300.

I can't modify, but I am running it for testing purposes now on one hour less than it should (as I described many time earlier) AND on the right / automatic settings. I do this with loading it up into another TF per pair, so I do not have to modify it.

 

Besides this has the effect, that maybe multiple trades will be opened, in case the other instance of kain finds it interesting to open up a new trade even if the other one hasn't closed yet :)

 

btw, EURUSD and USDCAD have not been trading every day since last week, market is quite quiet :) (what a word game) so do not wonder if there are no trades or a few. Autuum will come, hopefully with not that much surprises as the last one...

Can U explain me, how does it works? What other TF do U open. I think if U run two instance of Kain, you should get doubled trade everytime. If would be nice, if kain would open a trade, and after open another at the next good possibility.

It doesn't take any trade. No error message. What timeframe and pair should i use?

Ea missing dyn_s_r.ex4 from indicators folder. The parameters is similars to Opto123 EA.

Had a wonderful night, with EURUSD going for 17 pips on agressive ... and EURCHF also positive but not that well done although I thought It would also take a deep dive, but didn't. I am missing volatility since the 4th of July weekend. I think we see many traders on holiday at the moment, at least in the US session.

Hi. I use kain on fxopen ecn LIVE account, but not open any trades on it, but on fxopen ecn account DEMO, it opened only eurusd with same 17 pips profit. I think the problem was the spread, that is higher on live account. But I give to fxopen another chance next week, and after go to other broker.

I testing 24 hours trading (only EURUSD, aggr. on, 600/600 Hing impact news filter) from 2010.07.08, and the results still very impressive. 19 trades with only one SL and some small wins and losses makes 90$ profit with 0.1 lot.

 

Keep on testing.

KAIN starts trading after NY session closed at 5 pm EST. So you have to set the GMTOffset accordingly. But remember that in autumn US switches back to wintertime. And there is a period of 14 days or so where your broker might already have wintertime(e.g. european brokers) and USA still has DST!!

 

I use kain live and demo account for a week. Now I see trades taken this time on +3 and +2 (what kain calculated) GMT offset setting. I backtested both settings, and I see that backtest show what forward test. So I decided to set on fxopen to autoGMT on (+2 on fxopen in summer time).

I know that ea kain have problems with autoGMT, but somebody can tell me, what's the correct GMT setting for kain on fxopen?

The fxopen GMT is +2 and +3 in DST, but with autoGMT is shows +2. I thought, that the correct setting would be the +3, but otherwise I backtested it, and it seems to be that the +3 is totally loss on backtest.

Anyone else had a loss on last trading session? I had on +3, but I had 2 TP on demo with autoGMT (+2).
