I'm not a programmer but I have a question about EA's. Since the majority of people who receive emails about how great an EA performs from "x" number of years, months, etc., can an EA's DLL be programmed with bogus history to actually indicate better than average returns on trades?

 

I was told a Forex EA named "FX Ultrabot" was programmed like this.

 

If this is the case, how many other EA's are scams. Kind of makes you think why purchase something when you don't know what exactly the EA is programmed to do. Also what is the purpose of trading if you don't use your own brain matter to learn and trade?

 

Mainly I was interested to see if EA's could be programmed with bogus code to actually show profit from past time frames.
