There are times when some of you are not at able to be at your computer, and are not able to see certain readings or indicators given off signals and see their behavior.

Below is a link to a free and easy to use desktop recording software. It's very easy to use and completely free.

I use it to record my desktop when I am testing a system and do not have time to monitor it, I can later review it.

I provided the link below for anyone who wishes to download it, also the website explain vey very easy steps on how to use it.

    Ok guys...

Here's a 100% accurate Probability histogram hot off the press.

Note: This is a real time indicator which builds up history as it runs, so when you first install the indicator the indicator panel will be blank. Also be aware that changing timeframes will re-initialise the indicator and wipe out the data, the same applies when you restart MT4 or change parameter settings. It's a pain, I know, but this is the only way to ensure that we record correct data from the multiple timeframes.

Here's the link for the indi:

    http://www.multiupload.com/FVTZCMO5PU

If you leave the indicator running, the history will accumulate up to the number of bars specified in the parameter "LookBack" (defaulted to 1,000) and at that point should start overwriting itself (though I've not been able to test that yet).

You may also notice a parameter "MaxMin" - ignore that as it does nothing at the moment.

The indicator shows on the histogram maximum positive probabilities in light green and the probably at the closed candle in dark green. Negative probabilities are shown similarly in pink and red.

I've tested on the 1m chart (which has been very slow going in the Asian session) and some interesting patterns are forming. Try it out and see if you can spot some patterns which repeat regularly and lead to high probability setups :)

Here's a screenshot to show what it looks like:

Hi currency_tunes. Here is the answer.

    Spot FX Vs. FX Futures
Open interest and volume data on currency futures allow you to gauge market sentiment in the currency futures market, which also influences, and is influenced by, the spot forex market. Currency futures are basically spot prices, which are adjusted by the forward swaps (derived by interest rate differentials) to arrive at a future delivery price. (the spreedshet that i place here already add this diference) Unlike spot forex, which does not have a centralized exchange, currency futures are cleared at exchanges, such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), which is the world's largest market for exchange-traded currency futures. Currency ffutures are generally based on standard contract sizes, with typical durations of three months. Spot forex, on the other hand, involves a two-day cash delivery transaction.

Here are some of my rules i made for myself trading with "Soundfx System"

    1) Trade only one pair. i consider EUR/USD as the Major of Major Pair. (Sometimes i trade EUR/JPY also if its in correlation with EUR/USD, but only after Japanese mkt close)

    2) Fix trade timing... i start my trading from London open to London close, i will only carry forward a trade after london close (but will close as soon as possible), will not take a fresh trade after london close.

    3) Never enter in the middle of a signal given by the system, always wait for a fresh signal... if u missed 5 Min signal then look 4 fresh signal in 15 Min....

    4) After a signal is given dont jump in to it , look for recent high n lows and accordingly place ur trade.

    5) I personally never trade during or b4 the imp. news, only after it is over and its effect has subsidized.

    6) Discipline and patience is the key to success ( which i lack both of them but i m trying to attain both of them)

    7) Each day b4 starting ur MT4 platform check FF for imp. news and act accordingly.

    8) This system is not Holygrail.. losses will happen, its the cost that we pay for trading forex,

    9) Entering a trade at right time is imp. but its the Exit that will make us rich or poor

    10) Be honest with yourself, share ur all results whether in loss or in profit, many forex experts are here to help u with ur trading. they will point out wat mistake u r doing.

Right now mkts are in a pathetic range. look at EUR/USD for the last 15-20 days , its going no where, directionless. if u could make some amount of money in this range bound mkt using this system, then think how much money u will make using this system when the mkt comes out of this range and follow a clear direction.

    Just my two cents

    Guys,

Just a few of my thoughts on this EA...

I built in as much as I could think may be handy, the only thing missing is moving stops to breakeven if we're looking to test larger targets possibly on different timeframes. However, most of these extra functions like trailing stop, swing stop, running 2 trades (as in the original manual with swing stop/target and ATR stop/target) will probably need some tweaking before they work properly.

I actually moved away from using all that stuff and and used a simple 1:1 13 pip stop and 13 pip target on the 5m chart. No doubt these are good settings for EURUSD, though different settings will probably be required for other currencies and we may need to tweak the EURUSD ones as the average daily range changes over the long term. In fact a good way to determine stops and targets is to take them as a % of the 21 day ADR.

Why 13 as stop and target? In my experience even EA's which have decent signals need to have at least 1:1 risk:reward, because they just don't have the market awareness that manual traders have. The EA needs to work (or at least teeter around breakeven) in ranging markets. Hence a relatively small target should stand a good chance of being hit even in ranging markets. The stop needs to be small but not too small - lots of traders carelessly set their stops at 10 and they can be easily taken out with a broker spike.

15/15 may work just as well or better than 13/13 - it's something to test. 13 is the sort of number most folks would stay away from because they mistakenly see it as an "unlucky number", so that makes it a perfect candidate.

The EA running with the default parameters will have it's fair share of losses, though the profits should more than make up for those. When we're in a trending move provided the probability is > 20 or < -20 then we keep on placing trades. Obviously when the move ends we'll take a loss and we could take the odd loss on the way by retracements which go further than 13 pips.

It's sensible to use the MM setting as we're then always trading a fixed proportion of our account, so if we have a string of winners we can stake more and if we have a string of losers we can stake less.

    Hi Guys,

This EA is based on the manual system which is currently being enhanced, tested and traded in the thread:

    http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/14520-Pip-Accumulator

I started a new thread for the EA, because I think it will be disruptive to the original thread to mix in EA discussions. So, please use this thread for anything related to the EA ;)

The EA is based on an earlier version of the II Pip Accumulator indicator (without multiple timeframe probabilities) and the code from the indicator has been replicated inside the EA.

Because the probability indicator which the EA uses operates over multiple timeframes, I don't think we can get accurate backtests, hence the EA will need to be forward tested.

The EA has various options, though I've not been able to test many of these (I'm sure that there will be plenty of bugs that need fixing if you start using options other than the current settings, so any keen EA developers, please feel free to amend whatever you like and repost it here). However, with the current default settings I'm getting excellent results running the EA on a 5m chart.

Please post your testing results and findings here, so that we can all work on creating a great "home grown" EA :)

Here's the most recent version of the EA and indicators (on 26th Sept 2011):

    http://www.multiupload.com/FHMDLQVU7B

I also recommend that you read through the whole of the manual trading thread, so that you have the full background of where the EA development came from. Plus in the more recent posts you'll be able to download the most recent versions of the indicators II_Pip_Accumulator and II_Prob_Hist.

Here's a screen shot of what the indicators look like (I have these on the chart when running the EA, so that I can clearly see when and why the EA is making its decisions):

    I agree absolutely :)

Our trades which don't work often tell us more about a system than the trades which work. We're still in a development process here so all results should posted to help in our evaluation and improvement of the system.

BTW guys I've been running a basic EA based on the system, though I don't want this thread being invaded by the EA gang, so I'll start a separate thread for it in the EA section shortly.

I have been trading on and off with power levels. Today i got 2 winners and 1 small loser with them on eurusd. The long trade from 1.4328-14335 power levels was huge. I am trading these levels mainly in conjuction with candlestick patterns and oversold/overbought on stochs. And am using 5 min time frame for finer entries.

The wait is over... The power levels indicator is ready for your consumption!

Head over to http://www.forexpowerlevels.com and create an account using your Indo forum username. I will then manually upgrade your account to a lifetime member. It may take me some time to activate you due to timezone differences so if you want to use the indicator right away go to "My Account" once logged in and activate the 14 day trial.

Any problems let me here and I will try to help.

Also I would appreciate if some of you could come up with a testimonial which I can use on the website. One or two short sentences will be fine!

Remember: Registration is free for life for all Indo members. The only condition is you signup between now and 25th August. After that date the subscription cost will be $11.99 per month with 14 day trial.

    Good luck trading the levels.

I do intend to create a monthly subscription for use of the new indicator BUT all Indo members will get it free, forever. When the indicator is ready for everyone you will have 14 days to create an account and I will set them up with no subscription required on the site.

I do not want to charge you guys because without all your hard work we would not have found the levels! :)

    Hello,

Ive been busy converting the MT4 script in to an Indicator. At present it's 90% done. I plot it on a chart and as soon as my broker hits midnight the levels appear straight away for the next day! Also it can keep the old lines for specific number of days in past...

    New in v004:

    - When applying script to chart it will now automatically remove old lines before adding new lines
    - New option to choose a specific date to show power levels for.

plus some other minor fixes and improvements.

    Guys,

Here is what you have been waiting for... An automated way of adding the lines to your MT4 charts...

Download from above url and place in /experts/scripts folder. Then in MT4 goto scripts and attach to either EUR/USD or GBP/USD chart.

    User/Pass input required.

    User: indo
    Pass: investor

This is just to keep the script for members of this forum, password may change in future but I will always post new details here first.

Minimum open interest setting allows to only show lines with higher level of interest, if set to default all lines will be shown

Lines drawn are thicker the higher the level of interest:

Open interest of 0 to 500 -> Lines are thin
Open interest of 500 to 1000 -> Lines are medium
Open interest of 1000+ -> Lines are thick

You can also set specific colors for put/call lines

    Known issues & notes:

    - Lines do not delete themselves, i.e need to be manually deleted each day
    - Lines do not auto update each day and therefore script needs to be attached each day to update with new lines

Enjoy and post your feedback for improvements.

Ok, I am going to call these new lines "Correlative Power Levels"

Essentially they are power levels copied from a correlating pair relative to the current price.

Look @ price on charts above for EU, at around 8AM price reaches around 1.4200 level. Yes it's a BRN but there is another reason the price consolidated here for a while... Switch to GU chart and look at the same time. Price had hit a power level on the GU and caused EU to stop too :)

    How I calculated these levels

Level = difference between open price and each power level on correlating chart

    Example

    GU -> EU Correlation
    --------------------

    GU Open (20/06) = 1.61634
    EU Open (20/06) = 1.42762

    GU Power Levels:

    1.62125 - Distance from GU open = +49pips
    1.61840 - Distance from GU open = +20pips
    1.61170 - Distance from GU open = -46pips
    1.60890 - Distance from GU open = -74pips

Add these 4 GU lines to EU chart using the following calculation:

EU Open price +/- distance to open on each line from GU

    Example:

    1.42762 +49pips = 1.43252
    1.42762 +20pips = 1.42962
    1.42762 -46pips = 1.42302
    1.42762 -76pips = 1.42002

    Enjoy! :)

    Hello!

Due to popular demand I have updated the script again, now we have labels for the lines showing rank # and open interest value :)

    http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4049/91008602.gif

To see the labels ensure your chart has the option enabled here as below:
    http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/2464/descriptionsz.png

    Download v005 here:

Note: To ensure data is ranked correctly you need to delete all previous CSV files in the experts/files folder. This is because the data is ordered by open interest in all new downloads.
