  1. Final note: I think the author G. Smith is one of the few honest and good guys out there. So if you do make money with this, and as the cost of the course and the package are very cheap, I suggest eventually buying your own version. As a way to support the honest trader vendors out there.

I agree with you Duke, I bought his course ages ago.

I really like his simple down to earth approach.

  2. There's an old thread all about it :)

    http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/1325-Trade-Gold-with-MT4-Gold-Trade-Pro

Ah yes, I remember that thread.

This looks like a new version that has been reworked using volatility and fibs, mmmm ? That's novel.

One of the major problems with trading is that conditions change. Gold breakout compensates for this in two ways. Firstly, when the market is less volatile, we reduce our maximum tradable candle size (an indication of volatility). Secondly, because our trade parameters are based on Fibonacci levels, the stop and take profit automatically expands and contracts according to the conditions of the day. This means that our take profit can be as low as 30 pips during quiet times and over 100 pips when the market is volatile.

    Yadayadayada !

Here's what I had from the original if anyones interested.

But I think this update sounds better, any takers for Gold :)

  3. www.fxfiringpin.com

Free for two weeks then $497 if you buy within trial period. (No credit card sign-up)

    Full price $1997, Gulp !

It uses the strategy tester for simulated trading so you can get a feel for it.

There is no track record or back tests.

I'd be interested to hear opinions on this one, apart from how expensive it is !

    Thanks

  4. Looking at the code of both versions (orig./edu) there is a difference in the trading rules

The unedu version is making an outside call to a dll using the current RSI value

The educated version skips this call and therefor the trade dicision is no longer depending on the RSI value

Don't know whether this makes the difference, but could be

I would think it does make a difference. The call to the dll with the RSI value must be part of the logic so I guess you can forget the edu version that I found on another forum.

  5. That was a messy trade! Got into the market right when that American credit rating news hit and the market went haywire.

I am happy with the KangarooEA. I have been running it for a while, so am well above any loss a SL would give. You would only need a $1k account to easily clear the subscription fee and I reckon the service they provide is good.

The risk is not a percent. They explain it in the manual. It is just a number. Not a percent. On other EAs they claim it to be a percent but the drawdowns are much bigger than the value, so at least this one has a rule to follow with it.

My trades on the messy Euro trade yesterday closed out at take profit. Usually the first trade which closes at a loss gets made up, but this time it didn't - maybe because of the big drawdown it just got out when the 3 euro trades got to profit.

  6. Reassuring to know the Admin has it's eye on the ball and keeps in touch with their clients.

    Dear xxxx,

Bank of Japan action in the markets this morning has seen exceptional volatility and high spreads.

Until the situation calms itself and the markets stabilise and spreads return to normal we are suspending our trading of the KangarooEA and it is our recommendation that you consider the same.

    Regards,

  7. One day an old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he’s lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old German Shepherd thinks, ‘Oh, oh! I’m in deep doo-doo now!’ Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly, ‘Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?’

Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. ‘Whew!’ says the panther, ‘That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!’

Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes.

The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther.

The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, ‘Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what’s going to happen to that conniving canine!

Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, ‘What am I am going to do now?’, but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn’t seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says… ‘Where’s that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!

    Moral of this story…

Don’t mess with the old dogs… Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.

  8. I'm keeping this one.

Not only is the fee a bit high but also you can only run this on 1 live and 1 demo account. The way it's driving now it doesn't even cover the monthly fee being run on 1 live account unless you have a large account size. I am still in my 60 day period and unless something changes I'm returning this one.

An ex-girlfriend once said that "large" is a relative point of view, size does matter !

    Maybe that's why I'm an ex-boyfriend ?

Anyway, I guess you really wouldn't want to play ball with this one with less than 1K.

I'm running on a medium risk setting of "5" and even with my relatively small account I'm pleased that with the addition of the EURUSD EA and a monthly return of around 20%, it's paying for itself plus monthly growth.

If the performance continues and my account grows to such a size that I want to spread my risk with another broker, I'll gladly buy another license.

I reckon these guys are a class act, I'm keeping this one.

  9. Newsletter

Yes, and licensed copies are getting updates on a regular basis. :)

Unlike some other EA's where the seller leaves town after you buy the product, and then offer no support afterwards, and no updates.(

I think the after sales service from these guys is the best I've come across. Here's the latest client mail...

    Hi xxxxxxx ,

Alright - lets cut to the chase (the chase scenes are always the best bits of the movie anyway):

The KangarooEA is currently undergoing a major overhaul.

Thanks to all of you for mailing us your feedback, issues and ideas (and special thanks for the kind words!).

Your feedback allowed us to improve our work...so you can benefit.

We're happy to report that we have added the following features/additions/fixes to KangarooEA.

    1. Resolved the limit order rejection experienced on some brokers that prohibit expiration on pending orders (yes, they do exist)

    2. Streamlining of EURUSD KangarooEA's orders. Many changes have been done here in an effort to make its trades safer and operate better.

    3. Additional 'intelligence' in the opening of averaging trades series; the new algorithm improves the placement of new orders which can result in slightly better profits and better efficiency of # of trades.

    4. First EA to automatically deal with partial fills and incorporate them into its trading logic. At least...that's what we expect. Problem with this issue is that it does not happen often (we've seen 1 instance from a client) and is close to impossible to test...

    5. Manual intervention will now be managed effectively in the new version. KangarooEA will 'detect' if a user has manually closed it's trades and respond accordingly.

    6. Full review and re-write of the order management sections of the code

    7. New Feature: Cross checking between KangarooEA pairs so user can decide if both pairs should trade (or not) at the same time - reducing possible risk while keeping profits and returns high.

    8. A lot of smaller changes which will improve the safety and performance of both KangarooEA pairs.

We will be testing the new EAs on several brokers (6-7) and show our trades on our Myfxbook account so you can check our progress and compare it to your own performance.

As you can see from that list - we have had the development elves down the mine working 24/7 improving the EA for you, in response to all your feedback.

Dutch and I want to thank everyone once again for providing us with your feedback, log files and screenshots. Without your help we would not have been able to present to you such a wide ranging upgrade. We also thank you for your kind patience, we're currently testing the new versions now.

Because it is such a large update it will be labeled as KangarooEA v6.0. Rather than release small & frequent updates we would recommend people hold off on trading the EUR pair on live accounts for now until the new release comes out. It has taken a little longer then we hoped, but we want to do the job right, and do the job properly - which I am sure you all can understand and can appreciate.

    Until nextime, green pips everyone!

Ozzie, Dutch & The TulipFX Team

  10. How did others get through the updating..?

Pretty smoothly until I forgot to change my demo account number on the Tulip site. Duh !

But then....I had a light-bulb moment and set things right. I guess changing demo account numbers is something I'm just not used to.

I must say I have found the Customer Service very quick to respond to all my questions.

I wish I could find a few more Companies and EA's like this one.

Smooth and steady wins the race.

    ts
