Some thoughts concerning Dragon Pips. This bot did very well during summer months when market was ranging and then badly september thru november when market was trending. Market appears to be ranging again. This might be a another opportunity to make some pips say through the end of January. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Am friend of mine sent me this link to a really interesting system called Novus Orsa.

The FAQ page is long but interesting and includes all the indicators and templates at the bottom of the page.

It trades the EURUSD and uses the 30min chart for entry and longer timeframes for general direction.

Dragon pips seems to be running about about a 50% success rate for the last month or so, which is really bad for an EA with a 3 pip TP and a 25 pip SL. I demoed the 7-11 gmt london for a while but that was even worse, DP made me a ton of money in the summer months when all other bots were performing badly. I think I will shelve it until next summer or until I see alot of people showing strong daily results rather than a few people showing a good day once a week.

Hmmm,

I put the EE version on FXDD demo account. Set hour to 6, which is London start hour. It says "Waiting for London Open" and yet it is entering lots of trades. Any thoughts :-?

Broker is FXDD which is GMT+2. I have all 3 sessions enabled and I leave MT4 running 24/5

I believe FXDD is currently GMT +3, changes to +2 on november 1st. Thanks for the setting though, I will demo this bot

Can you explain more on your EurUsd trades? Cos until now, I am still cannot find the best timing for this pair.

I took lots of lost in it & eat very badly into my Echf profits. Also this EGbp pair also.

 

Can I know what is your settings for EU?

 

Hmmm everyone is proposing the best timing is 18hrs to 22hrs. I think I will not be greedy & follow that reason because 23hrs trades stay to long & most likely loser trades as well. So most of the times I need to close it manually.

I use risk 20 and max trades 3, trade times are 19 through 22 on EU and 18 through 22 on EC. Also as I said I do not let EU trade on Sundays, newsdays or holidays.

I have been running live and demo tests of DP V3 universal for about a month now. I use FXDD which is gmt+3 Risk 20 Max trades 3. Initially is was trading 22 - 1 But I have found that the 21-22 hour is good I was trading til 2 but it took some bad trades and often the trades stay open longer than I am comfortable with. I have also been trading eurusd as well as eurchf and the results are interesting so far Eurchf can trade sundays, newsdays, and holidays! It has only lost two trades this month one for 1 pip and one for 4 pips. Eurusd however is a little more skittish it has had losses on sundays, news and holidays, however it does make a lot of trades. I dropped my tests on Gbpusd because it did not trade as much as the pairs and it had losses.

I just set up three demo accounts on fxdd with V3 V4 and ultimate. With identical settings, this way I can hopefully figure out what hours and risk levels are best

Yes but it scares me sometimes. Yesterday had 2 GU, 2 UCAD and 2 UCHF open at once but they all closed at a nice profit

I am testing V3 extreme against V4 with identical settings, pretty much default risk 50 max trades 5. I am running 22-2 on FXDD +3GMT They do trade differently but it is too early to draw any conclusions as far as profitability. I am entering each trade, time and currency into a spreadsheet should have some interesting numbers soon. I am trying to see if on trades better than another over different time frames and or currencies. They both trade sunday but not friday. I was also demoing the 2-3 hour but it had big losses. 21 through 22 and 1 through 2 have had only a few losses in these timeframes but lots of wins so I will continue to test. I live trade 23-1 with excellent results.

Cheers Bud, dont know how I missed it X_X . I've been demoing v2 with good results, what are the main differences with v3. So far just been testing eurchf on fxdd demo acc. 22 thru 1 risk 40. I think this EA has a lot of potential.
