  1. It is interesting how Kangaroo keeps the same stop loss value as it opens new positions. I expected to see each with its own 60 pip SL instead all had the same SL.
Since it's a grid trader, it would see all open trades as a basket with one average entry price and a corresponding basket stop loss price (though a lot of grid traders don't use stop losses - they keep opening new trades hoping for a reversal).
  2. i imagine he's talking about the Kangaroo. Doing tests on my tick data atm. it is reeeeaaallllyyyy slow in testing. judging by the size of the ex4 and dll that's not really surprising.
I wonder if the news filter is the bottleneck. It certainly was in the previous version, which is why I wrote a more efficient version of the filter that uses a 2 dimensional array to store the history.
  3. Yes MTI might be incorrect if it is using strange lot sizes. When it is shared we can suss it out.
MTI is probably assuming 1 lot = 100K of base currency which causes the equity swings to be 10 times larger. It's not MTI that is "using strange lot sizes", but the trading account, in which 1 lot = 10K of base currency. IBFX has such an account, often called a "mini account".
  4. Bumb this. It's a micro account that they are testing, not publicly available yet. So any calculations($1200 was actually $120) shown here are wrong so far and the account wasn't even close to be blown out.

Maybe the MTI analysis is wrong somewhere, and the MyFxBook page is showing the correct equity history.

That chat transcript with Raymond Ong does show that the EA vendor and broker are working and probably profiting together. Whether it's a scam is not yet clear. That MTI analysis chart needs further investigation. I'm not sure how possible it is to allow an account to continue taking trades while equity is negative, as there is a free margin check on the server before any order is accepted and filled.

  5. Dariusz Makowiecki

    Wayne (Aquarius) = Dariusz = Dominic ....

You can see the name Dariusz Makowiecki is listed as one of the real accounts when he advertized for Genius:

Here are some screenshots of Dariusz Makowiecki from the www.v-s-p.net web site (a modeling agency in Japan specializing in foreigners) when it still existed last year:

  6. Some vendors use protection in order to hide the fact that they copied the code of another EA with slight modifications, optimized parameters, different symbols and time frame.
I should also add yet another reason why some vendors use protection: to hard code specific dates to skip taking trades. If in previous backtests they found that the EA took a bad trade, they can then enter that date (or a range of days around that date) in the code (either MQL or in the DLL) for that EA to skip. If we can't see the code, we may never know whether any dates were hard coded to skip.
  7. If we ever want to see this type of honost none hype vendors then we should not try to crack their codes in public. I am sure lots of of people who hang out here are reseller pirates

  8. this should work sorry for all the foul ups before, I didnt realize that the files had to be shared and available for download.

    try this one now.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/406405641/full4XGreed_Setup_1.7.zip.html

This is a fake version that I believe was released by the vendor. I used a HTTP debugger and found that the setup file tries to access the URL "http://4xgreed.com/installcheck.cfm?Purchaser=Hacked Version That Fuckes UMMM UP". I set the debugger to respond with a HTTP 200 response, and it then passes the internet checks, but after all the files are copied the main EA is missing.

  9. Web site: http://www.tickzoom.com

This platform looks far better than MetaTrader 4 for accurate and fast backtesting.

MetaTrader 4 can only run in a single CPU core and can't backtest over real tick data without a patch and cumbersome tick data preparation.

MetaTrader 5 can use multiple CPU cores, however there is currently no way to import custom historical data.

Most new computers have multiple CPU cores, and TickZOOM has been designed to make full use of all CPU cores.

Here are some quotes from the TickZOOM vendor:

    Zoom Speed?

Well, TZ processes 11,000,000 ticks in just under 40 seconds

and never uses over 80 meg of memory. Is that ZOOM speed? You decide.

It can also process billions of ticks which takes linearly longer,

but due to streaming technology someone recommended (and was added)

it never uses more than around 80 meg of memory and so it can

actually run endless amounts of data without blowing the PC memory.

Someone also pushed for addding the ability to process bar data at

equivalent speeds and that was added recently, it processes over

6,000 bars (25 years of daily data) in less than 400 ms. That can

make for some really quickly optimizations runs.

TickZOOM can also backtest multiple strategies over multiple symbols, i.e. "portfolio" backtesting.

MetaTrader 4 can only backtest over one symbol at a time.

A free trial is available if you email the vendor. Does anyone have it already and can share it?

  10. It could be a grid trader. You can see multiple trades closing at the same time in the history. Check the maximum trade duration and maximum total open volume.

The open trades are private because he may not want you to see how many trades it can have open at one time.

The risk with grid trading strategies is having too much volume open and/or having trades open for too long, which can lead to account stop out ("margin call").

  11. And from http://www.forex-directory.org/details/96/dukascopy.html about Dukascopy stated very very clearly for you all traders to see yourself before decide to invest in LHC/Dukascopy:

History of Dukascopy 1998 Dukascopy Trading Technologies Corp.

Dukascopy project was launched in 1998 by a group of physicists affiliated with CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). Its mission was to research, develop and implement financial complex system via novel mathematical and econophysical techniques

(econophysical ??? see the relation between economics and physics hope not reaching economics balance on earth through genocides by physical doom machine/mini black hole).

That sounds like their goal is to profit from high frequency trading. They would certainly have the infrastructure and low latency connections to multiple liquidity providers to do so.

Econophysics usually refers to the application of physics theory to financial market data, e.g. brownian motion.
