    Well, I cannot share the EA that I am coding myself. But I can share some of the ideas. I am here to discuss ideas. Attached is the performance of my countertrend dip buyer (the EA only BUYS at extreme dips, specified by my proprietary combination of technical indicators and no martingale, no semimartingale, risk & money management depends on ATR multiples and Kelly).

     

    Anyone wants to discuss Ultra Short Term & High-Probability Counter Trend Trading?

    I forward tested this. It is a sketchy programming of the support resistance idea. Even though it claims it has advanced features, it really is weak and poor. On my forward tests it gave back all the profit to the exact penny and it has had some losses. It does not have profit protection and stop-losses are HUGE. -- Archive that file somewhere, come back a year later and backtest then (or have patience to forward test it all the time) and I bet that it will be a loser.

    I am trying to build a counter trend system, such as trying to trade the rebounds in big falls and spikes, without getting caught on a breakout and I need some ideas.

     

    What is the best counter trend system you know of, that works on the very short time scale (trade closes within 10minutes or so with at least over 20pips)? One short term CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor) made the top #1 this year on the Barclay Hedge List, returning 204% in past 12 months. This is with managed money of less than $10million.

    I must tell you, I am working with some Bollinger Band reversal patterns on 5MIN, and my simplistic EA seems to be making money. I am looking for better techniques and strategies though.

    I am running this live on a demo (forward test). Only on EURUSD though. So far the robot is not very successful, but EURUSD was making some of the craziest moves. I believe it has a reasonable logic build behind it, but it's support/resistance lines are very preliminary. The Waddah-Attar support/resistance indicator works better. The trade direction indicator in ForexDerivativePro still looks like a joke though, it is not as logical as other parts of the robot. Direction is determined by "price action" -- excuse me, how? No answer yet! Lastly, the profit protection on this robot is very poor -- it was making such a good profit when EURUSD dropped last week, and it gave all of it back to the exact penny and closed the trade at 0 (zilch!) profit! Today it is losing money.

     

    This robot has some correct ingredients, but it is not built as well as it was claimed.

    Starting,

     

    The folder has 4065 files (currently) and growing. None of my downloaders (including that of 4sh@red original for free users) can download this many files. Your downloader stopped at 98 files!!! The jdownloader is at 1098 file so far. I need something better mate!

    The robot did not trade from February 11 to March 15 in 2010. This is very very fishy. I would think that this is again a timewaster!

    Kudos to our friend "birt"!

     

    Guys, can we please check if this EA and its code any good, or is it again a timewaster/fake/crap as before. The producer always writes nice stuff to sell the EA, but the real question is whether they implemented the logic they wrote, and whether it is fitted to data or whether it could work in a general trading environment.

     

    The previous version was overfitted to data, worked well for a couple of weeks, then at some point started losing money, constantly.
