I was trading the EA since 30/09 and using OOTB settings, trading times 21-23 on Alpari (20-22 GMT)

    Had EA attached on M15.

Switching to 19-21 GMT on M5 this week forthgoing.

These above 5 losses wiped out all profits of those 3 trading days, and caused about 5 % DD on the account.

Let's see how this week goes. But I feel a bit uncomfortable as far as the risk/rewark ratio of this EA is concerned,

as least as far as those early 3 days can tell...

Anybody else got those loosing trades besides me ?

    Cheers,

    Michael

  2. Re: Megadroid Pro

    Hi everybody,

I feel the reason for poor performance of EURUSD in Backtesting in recent weeks might be in the GMT setting.

Actually, I feel very confused with GMT settings on the PRO version anyway :

In my case, as I am on Alpari, the correct setting (for the period from April this year until now)

should be GMT=2, as we are at DST. On forward testing this is also the setting which the EA will take ,

    if AUTOGMT is activated.

However the manual of MDPRO is advising to use GMT=1 for backtesting at Alpari,

and in fact , on the 3 NEW pairs, GMT=1 results in better backtest results than GMT=2

(even through this period from April until now, in which Alpari actually is at GMT =2)

However on EURUSD it is exactly the other way round, GMT=2 results in much better results than GMT=1:

GMT=2 had No loosing trade in July at all (which also mirrors the results I had using MD Live forward at Alpari during this time)

whereas GMT=1 had 3 loosing trades.

See backtest in attached file for comparisson for EURUSD (better at GMT 2)

and as an example for the new pairs: EURCHF which is better at GMT 1

    www*filefactory*com/file/ahed9b6/n/Statements_rar

So, I am right to assume, to replicate these good backtest results in forward / live trading on all pairs,

in the case of Alpari, on EURUSD we should set GMT=2 (or leave it at autogmt),

whereas on the other 3 new pairs (and probably also on any other additional pair which would be added) ,

autogmt should be disabled and GMT=1 should be set ?

Then, the question is still , how should we proceed with GMT setting when going back to standard time

in late October ? EURUSD = GMT=1 and all other pairs GMT = 0 ?

Hope anybody could shed some light into this...

    Cheers,

    Michael

  3. Re: Tadawul FX

    Hi,

I have been using Tadawul FX LIVE from February to May this year .

Mostly trading Fap Turbo EA on it. The first 2-3 weeks went on pretty fine,

performance very similar to demo account, made about 20 % profit in 2 weeks with 20 % risk setting on EURGBP and 10 % on EURCHF at that EA.

Then however they changed the spread to 5 pips on these pairs on live accounts during Asia Session

for about 2 weeks at some time in March, if I remember right. This was when things started to change dramatically,

performance wise of FAP TURBO: I had 2 SL hits on EURGBP during that time. (none on the demo account, which continued to run with 3 pips spread).

After those 2 weeks, they decreased the spread to 3 pips again, but the thrill was gone since then:

Fap turbo took by far less trades than before, and the trades it took had more losses than occuring on

other brokers such as Alpari: even though Alpari got higher spreads (5 pips) I got more trades and more proftitable trades

on my Alpari live account at the same times.

All in all, after about 3 months of live trading my initital 20 % profit had turned into 20 % losss, this is when I decided to pull the plug. After I asked their customer service what was the reason for this dramatic change in trade behavior of Fap Turbo,

    their answer was :

"I’m sorry to hear how you feel, I assure you the reason clients may find a difference is that with TDFX all positions are covered which means that when you open or close a position you are actually capturing the market rate"

What I heard fromother people is that Tadwaul seems to filter and "flaten" their price data alot more than

other brokers, such as Alapri, which is very unbeneficial for the usage of Sclaper EAs such as Fap Turbo or Megadroid.

So I can absolutely not recommend this broker to anybody who has in mind to use them

with scalping EAs due to their low spread.

Other than that, my deposits and withdrawals with them always worked fine anhd on time, did not have any issues with that.

Hope this is helpful to anyone

    Kind regards,

    Michael
