The market goes where it wants, you just have to work out how to get in tune with it... and go with it...
 
don't waste '000s on useless ea junk...
 
also, don't waste too much time with indicators.. Some are handy, but all they do is give you something to blame when you lose money...
Most lag, most repaint (some a LOT worse than others i.e. look stunning in the past, but live they suck... do a control points visual backtest to check...)
 
and simple, with a healthy dose of patience, is better...
 
The basics are:
1) Money Management - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT... keep yourself in the game.. don't bet the farm on one trade that you are "just sure will work out in your favour" - it's all fun and games until someone looses an eye...
2) Trendlines - look out for breakouts or reversals, and once confirmed, go where the market is showing you it is headed (never EVER second guess the market)
3) Support and Resistannce - learn to identify it... helps you know where to set targets, (or/when) to tighten stops, add to positions etc
4) Chart Patterns and Candlestick patterns - we're human after all, this is where the emotional side of the market plays itself out
 
I usually start on the monthly, draw relevant Support Resistance and Trend lines, move to weekly, repeat, daily, repeat, hourly, repeat etc.... With the lines drawn, you will at least have some insight as to WHERE and WHEN prices are likely to reverse or break out..
 
All of the above points work on ANY timeframe too... choose a timeframe to suit your lifestyle....
 
You don't need to be a news hound.. but be aware of news releases for that day, and think how they will affect the market...
 
the fundamentals drive the market overall.. but the price plays itself out in the bars....

Hi all,
there were a lot of people looking for an EA that will trade the Rubicon indicator (including myself),
and I wasn't able to find any, except for that fxtool thing which requires a monthly subscription...
so I hired a programmer to do it for me,

I think you guys are wrong. I tried many scalpers in different Brokers already. You can choose good Brokers with good execution since if you have at the least 5k deposit. For example ATC Brokers,they are good for me and i have no issues with big slippage,poor execution. I have 7ms ping on my VPS to they Data Center . ATC Brokers is just an example. I know a Private Broker 0.1~0.5 pips on EURUSD, $6 comm. round turn and have the best execution on MT4 that i saw untill now. Scalp is worthless for many people because most of us choose bad Brokers and said WORTHLESS. MDP is a example that can works in many Brokers and make money. I know people making money using MDP and some lost. Why? The scalp is worthless?maybe good for you is bad for me. maybe bad for me is good for you... when a system is worthless it cannot trade live anywhere.

I have retained the intent of the MQ5 source as much as possible, but some MQ5 functions, in particular the concept of splitting orders into "deals," do not have counterparts in MQ4.
Do you happen to know what pairs and timeframes this EA uses?

Don't kid yourself lol. If it was this easy to make a highly profitable EA, it would have been done years ago ;)
 
Reversing bad trades doesn't necessarily mean that they automatically become good trades and this same topic has been raised several times before and I've yet to see a ****py EA with trades reversed that was anything better than mediocre, in fact a lot end up being perversely even worse than the original !
 
However, as a trader I retain an open mind and anything is possible, though as a trader I also work in probabilities and based on what I've seen, the probability of this reversal idea working is close to 0.

Ok this is the version from the discount site. I went back on the chart in strategy tester to see if the discount version gives the exact same signals as Mike B's version on the Rising Phoenixs site and it gives the exact same results, so it is safe to say that this is the exact same indi that mike b is selling for hundreds of dollars.

Guys, please read this.
In version 1.36 they've improved security so it will be hard for hackers to educate EA. But with security improvance there were bug with AUTO-Gmt function. So they fix that bug and made 1.37.
Summary 1.37 = 1.35 with improved security from hackers. Do you really need this security? Just use 1.35 cause it's trading EXACTLY the same.
I know what I'm talking about because I asked developers about changes in every version that come out.

I've analyzed the mq4-code for the top-10 of their EA's. All of them awaits signals from an external server and has no internal trading strategy. This means that they are signal copiers; passive programs and no real EA's.
