  1. Hi, I've noticed recently that there seems to be some software runnning against posts and trying to identify swear words, insults etc. and replacing them with ****'s Please can you remove a_s_s from this list because many words contain this word which is only a very mild insult at the very most. For example: a_s_s_ume a_s_s_orted cl_a_s_s etc.
  2. Guys, I was mainly interested in the WCVA course, though that was deleted for me too. I downloaded the first one (WVA) which took ages - skimmed through the accompanying pdf and then deleted it (sorry - I didn't think that I may need to re-upload for others). The WVA course is mainly applicable to stocks where volumes are recorded centrally. In Forex (which is all I trade) there is no true volume so this course wasn't of any use to me.
  3. 4051fx, Why "thread close" ? These are spectacular results, I would be interested to hear how these guys are trading, do they give any insights into their strategies ?
  4. Hi James, I've already started a thread on this one at: http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/9911-(Req)-L0nd0n-Cl0s3
  5. Guys, Here's my experience with connection problems. I had loads of problems connecting to II shortly after the forum was upgraded. Interestingly, II was the only website I could no longer connect to. I came to the conclusion that changing browsers didn't make much difference. IE8 works fine with II and I'm using it now. All proxy servers I found to be too slow and a lot display ads. which are annoying. Some of them could connect to II and some still couldn't. I tried all sorts of tricks to connect (deleting caches, updating stuff etc.) and I believe that the problem was down to the dynamic IP addresses allocated by my ISP. After looking at several tracert logs, I could see that my connection with IP addresses from a certain range were being dropped at a server in the US shortly before reaching the II server. Rebooting my router allocated a different IP address, though because it was from a similar range of numbers my connection was still getting bounced. As it happens, my ISP at that time was in the process of moving accounts to a parent company. That move meant that my dynamically allocated ISP range would be different, and lo and behold as soon as the move took place, my connection to II was again flawless. It seems that some servers along the route to a website are more sensitive to IP ranges than others and these ranges can get labelled as undesirable if in the past one or two of the IP addresses from the range have been used by spammers.
  6. Floored (2010) This is a documentary about the old style pit traders in Chicago and the mind-shift needed for them to come to terms with the electronic age which makes interesting viewing. Not easy to watch at times because this shows the reality of professional trading, warts and all. Most of the episodes are available on-line here: http://vodpod.com/watch/3754630-floored-the-movie-episode-1

    FXPRO

spycat, From your earlier posts I believe that you're an IB for Dukascopy which is a conflict of interests isn't it ? ;) I have had a live account with FxPro for some time and I'm very happy with the service they've provided. I also have accounts with other brokers and I agree with earlier posters that FxPro spreads are very good in comparison to others. Some brokers are better than others depending on your trading style. I've been mainly day trading with FxPro with around 5 max. trades per day and I avoid news. Other folks who want to run EA's scalping the quiet periods may find that FxPro spreads are too high at that time and there may be more requotes/slippage - that I can't comment on. The best way to test out any broker is to open a small live account and if you get any problems with trade execution on tiny trades, then you can be sure that these problems will increase when you start trading for bigger stakes. This has to be a live account because all demo accounts work at the speed of light and execute every trade perfectly lol.
  8. It's quite a big file (82Mb) and in Flash video format, so the easiest way to view is using the free VLC media player which can be found at: http://www.vlcmediaplayer.org/ Here's the mirror: http://www.multiupload.com/QFC9JBXP6H
  9. Re: working together... Hi Mike, This seems like a good idea and I think that a new forum here on II will be best, it could be called something like "II Robot Development". The reason for keeping the development on II is simply because we have loads of members who'll be able to contribute ideas, code etc. from day 1, whereas starting a new forum will be hard work - recruiting the right people, keeping members, filtering out spam etc. The key is to maintain focus on developing a single powerful EA. I've noticed that there are plenty of threads here already where EA's have been created to test various manual trading systems. Lots of these contain great ideas and some great code, however as soon as difficulties are encountered, enthusiam wanes and everyone moves on to the "next best thing". If we can keep focus and concentrate jointly on tackling tricky problems then we could get a nicely profitable EA out of it :)
