Creating a trading plan for the forex market
soundfx replied to rajesh's topic in Forex Clips & Movies
I've just watched the webinar and it's worth viewing. Trend is determined from 90SMA on 4H and Daily and Momentum is determined from RSI 14 on 4H and Daily (classic institutional analysis stuff). The key is to look to other markets to see what the main forex pairs are most likely to do. 4H charts of the following are checked for trend and momentum: S&P futures/Dax futures/Nikkei Futures/Gold/Oil/EURUSD as they are all positively correlated. There's plenty more on defining entries and daily analysis routines which will tell us whether we should be trading intra-day or looking for a longer term trending move. Much more than I expected. Of course, the website reports are plugged a lot at the end (and for anyone who wants to pay the subs. then all the analysis will be laid out for you with extra snippets of info. and levels to look for trades at). -

Hi conglo, I use the free VLC player which seems to work for virtually all videos - this one looks fine with it. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Hi aclient21, Filesonic is such a pain (for free downloads). You just have to keep trying and waiting a zillion times. Ignore the message that you can't download more than 1 file at a time (when you're clearly only trying to download 1 file), and keep on refreshing the screen/pressing the download button etc. and you eventually get there. Remember to scroll through the anti-spam text examples and pick one which is obvious to see because the slightest mistake will put you back on the refresh/hit download button cycle lol. Problem viewing threads - posts disappearing
soundfx replied to soundfx's topic in Suggestions for us
Yep - I've seen this before too :) We need to get one of the mods to change the thread title if possible. Having ... in the title is causing problems. You can view the other pages by removing the ...'s: http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/2690-Scalpingis-this-a-waste-of-time-or-can-you/page2 http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/2690-Scalpingis-this-a-waste-of-time-or-can-you/page3 etc. -
Hi Guys, This is all interesting stuff. I've followed remote viewing for a good while now though have never been able to summon up the effort to try and make it work (lack of conviction in my own abilities plus problems in finding eager assistants to run through all the training etc.). The military remote viewers all supposedly had some psychic ability before being recruited didn't they? Has anyone managed to have any success at all remote viewing the markets? If so, how have you measure this ? Remote viewing EURUSD now and saying that it will drop for next week proves nothing - good guesswork or even TA can tell you the same thing. However, if you can do this 10, 20 or 30 weeks in a row then that would be impressive :) I'm all up for believing in this, so for anyone out there who wants a challenge, let's keep it very simple and record each week ongoing what remote viewing tells us about EURUSD. Before the markets open on Sunday (or Monday for you antipodeans), the remote viewer needs to publish a prediction here as to where they think EURUSD will close at the end of the week. If this is too difficult, then just post whether you think that EURUSD will close up or down at the end of the week.

Bob! II is generally a forum of freedom of expression which is one of its strengths. Posters who suspect the integrity of other posters should be sure to always quote them in their responses (not that I suspect your integrity ;) ). This will ensure that the thread maintains a logical progression and will virtually eliminate the gap problem where posters suddenly decide to delete all their posts en-masse. As for recognising posters signing up with new names, that could also prove to be tricky. For example, because I don't have a fixed IP address, all I need to do is to reboot my router and sign up as rather than and I will appear to be someone else ;)

Hi esperanza, The link you gave works, however the links to the videos e.g.: http://www.fileserve.com/file/eVXbY4k/STSDVD02.part16.rar (http://www.fileserve.com/file/eVXbY4k/STSDVD02.part16.rar) http://www.filesonic.com/file/111590371/STSDVD02.part01.rar (http://www.filesonic.com/file/111590371/STSDVD02.part01.rar) Both say "file deleted" unfortunately.

Hi guys, I've just noticed this video which looks quite interesting, though unsurprisingly the links are all dead. If you think the video is worth watching, please can some kind soul with free time on their hands re-upload ?

lol - so we have a pot head pixie running loose in the server with serious munchies and eating all the memory :)
-
Hi retireme, I'd not thought to look at the stats. doh! I'm sure iCan will fix this soon. Something is eating memory, though tracking these sort of problems down can be tricky.

I've had this too. Keep trying and you eventually get in. I assume that the server resources are being stretched due to the popularity of II :)

[REQ] Mellen, Mark How to play the races & win
soundfx replied to kent123's topic in Learning Resources
I'm not a fan of Gann, though from searching around it looks as though a downloadable pdf (Mellen Mark - How To Play The Races and Win.pdf) is available at: www.wheelsinthesky.com Looks as though you'll need to register to see what's in there, though it appears to be a free site at first glance. [edit] Oops - just checked again and it's $64 for 6 months. The only other place I could find was for sale by sacredscience and it will set you back $200 for a fancy hardback. -
For anyone not familiar with drawing these sort of lines in MT4, I've written a short guide to explain how to do it: http://www.multiupload.com/HRZAV085S1 No excuse for not posting charts now ;)

fxfxfx, This thread should warrant much more interest from the stacks of newbie traders here who want to be successful, however sadly most newbies will be hot footing it to the latest shared fad EA thread as soon as they see that there may be a bit of effort involved and (horror of horrors) some manual trading (which brings with it personal responsibility ;) ). Breaks of HH/LL (aka swings) and bounces off S/R levels are both classic trading tactics which when mastered will allow anyone to make more money than they could ever need from the markets. I assume you're planning to teach these or something similar which will make for a great thread which everyone should read :) The key thing everyone should take note of is to be patient and only wait for the best setups. Trading when you "think" you know what will happen next is just gambling - ensure that you have as much lined up as possible to keep the probability of success on your side. Indicators (like EA's) will always disappoint eventually because they're based directly or on some variation of a moving average - which only tells you what price has just done and not what it's most likely to do next. The only high probability use of ONE indicator is for spotting divergences - any will do: MACD, RSI, CCI or whatever. If you like to trade counter-trend or are looking for reversals at points of strong S/R then divergence provides a nice extra confirmation. I'm look forward to your next posts...

I agree with you Diesel.

There Should Be An Instant Ban For Time-Wasting Fraudsters!
soundfx replied to manganate's topic in Suggestions for us
I agree with sticking to simple rules, otherwise things get very tricky. So called "pointless" or "over the top" etc. threads to some may contain a lot of value for others. I followed many years ago a guy who posted as "tradevector" on other forums, most thought he was crazy, though I could see lots of interesting and ground breaking techniques in what most just dismissed as crazy talk. The smallest of ideas can trigger any of us to greater things at any time. scwon has the right idea - just treat visiting the forum as selecting a TV channel for example. If you want to see the cricket and end up tuning in to a romantic movie by mistake, do you carry on watching and then complain afterwards ? lol. -
Problem viewing threads - posts disappearing

Eureka! The problem was mine all along 8-) I'm using IE and had set my browsing history settings to never check for newer versions of stored pages. I'd changed this setting and others based on some recommendations for improving performance, though it didn't make much difference and I'd forgotten about it. I've set this back to check for newer versions every time I check the web page and it works fine now. -
Hi guys, Just recently I've experienced strange problems in viewing threads where not all posts are being shown. It's as though the database index is corrupt when threads are viewed through certain routes though not through others. I've compiled a bunch of screenshots to illustrate the problem: http://www.multiupload.com/UUBKSOT48Y Any ideas what could be causing this? Is anyone else having the same problem ? I've tried clearing my browser cache and logging out and back in again and can't fix it from my side.

Hi Moritzm, Yep - I had loads of these recently, though it seems to have improved over the past couple of days. Normally re-attempting to access the page a few times worked, apart from some times at weekends where the server is probably brought down for maintenance. I logged a couple of the errors in case they got too bad: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 15990784) (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/indoinv/public_html/includes/class_core.php(4425) : eval()'d code on line 62 Service Temporarily Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
