Hi..

Actually there are several type of Support Resistance. Static and Dynamic.

Static an be drawn with straight Horizontal by examine the whole price in Multi Time Frame. And the Dynamic can be drawn by using Pivot, Fibonacci, or Indicators (ex: Bollinger Bands, Moving Average, or even Specific Moving Support Resistance custom Indicator)

Which one is the better one? All is good and depend on your trading strategy. It also good to combine them. Shorter time frame for short term trading should use the dynamic SR.

I will explain more in static SR which I always used in my trading.

In my experience, Static SR usually happend from the past price level and will repeat in the future. For example:

Bold Lines are Major/Strong SR Lines, which bigger probability that price will retrace or breakout those lines.

Thin lines are minor SR Lines, which it still on the test to be the strong SR Lines.

How did I draw those lines?

Use all your Time Frames, Monthly, Weekly, Daily, H4, and H1

1. look at your Monthly Chart, find the point where price were bounced. Draw the lines at the rounded price (ex: 1.3500, 1.4100)

2. Change to Weekly Chart, do the same thing with step 1, but also do the fine tune the lines you have drwn from step 1

3. Change to Daily Chart. Examine all lines you have drawn and test them with past data. The valid lines should be the valid for all price movement in the past until current.

4. Change to H4. do the same thing with above steps, but now fine tune to something like 1.3250, 1.4120. Add more lines if you think the price were bounce off.

5. Change to H1, do the same thing like step 4.

6. You have your static SR lines.

For suppose in the present time you find a new lines, mark them with thin line and test those lines by examine each price movements everyday until you are satisfied and sure enough that the lines is a good SR Lines.

You will find that the lines you have drawn is also agreed by Fibonacci 38.2, 50, and 68.1. The more lines agreed by Fibonacci, the stronger the SR Lines.

Yes, I am live trading with my SR lines. But I treat them to be my "the guardian" lines. In my EURUSD above you will find that 1.4000, 1.3300 are very strong SR Lines. I got many profits from those lines. At the moment, EURUSD are still playing around 1.4000.

By this special double or triple 0, you can also apply Kathy Lien's OO strategy.

I do agree with bro dvd..

First time joined this forum I felt so amazed and wanna grab everything I could. Guess what? Newbie is still newbie.

Downloading many systems without evaluating our trading edge is still a looser to go. I myself have blown 70% of my mini FXCM account last year in only 4 months. Yet I have downloaded huge amount of materials from this forum. Downloading and Collecting or even reading many books/articles are something that still far away from being succeed.

Knowing your trading edge and learning from your failures is more promising. Listen to everybody's opinion (whether right or wrong) is a good habit. By listen and practise what you got, I believe someone will make improvements.

demo...demo...demo....sampai equity kamu bisa bertambah dengan stabil.....ingat stabil....

Untuk demo pakai platform apa aja oke....pakai MT4 lebih enak & mudah...but sering requote...

Mau nambahin dikit aja, mungkin buat sedikit pertimbangan tentang latihan Demo account dibanding latihan dengan account live.

Latihan dengan account live? apa bisa tuh?

Jawabnya: bisa..

Saya sendiri sekarang kalo ada posisi yang tidak pasti (masih ragu), di test di live account. Dulu saya selalu test di demo account, semenjak diberi saran oleh beberapa senior disini, sekarang saya tetap test dengan live account.

Hanya saja, kita perlu menggunakan broker yang bisa trading mini hingga 0.01 lot. Kita bisa atur range lotnya sesuai dengan berapa banyak yang kita siap untuk loss. Dengan kata lain secara konsisten kita juga dilatih untuk selalu menggunakan money managemant.

Ada beberapa kelebihan bila kita latihan menggunakan live account.

1. Berlatih untuk realistik pada nilai STOP / TARGET.

Saat kita entry dengan STOP : 100 pips, TARGET 125 pips, maka bila menggunakan 0.01 lot, maksimum kita hanya rugi USD 1 saja. Bandingkan dengan demo account, kadang kita menaruh posisi tanpa pertimbangan lebih jauh. Dulu saya sering pasang trade pada STOP: 200 TARGET 400 di demo account. Dari pengalaman saya saat test di live dengan 0.01 lot, kita dilatih untuk analisa dan pasang trade secara realistik, dan mungkin dengan jumlah pip yang sama besarnya dengan apa yang di trade pada 1 lot.

2. Belajar melatih emosional

Trading pada demo, sama sekali tanpa emosional sehingga hasilnya lebih baik daripada sudah live account.

Trading pada live account dengan 0.01 lot, meski resiko sangat kecil, tetap ada emosi yang dilibatkan, karena meski jumlahnya kecil, uang kita bisa tetap berkurang.

3. Belajar melatih Money Management

Ini yang penting. Bila sudah sering belajar trading pada micro/nano lot, kita terbiasa akan mengkalkulasi berapa dollar uang kita yang berani kita resikokan untuk kalah.

Misal: Saya punya account sebanyak USD 500. Dan saya hanya berani rugi sebanyak 2% saja atau USD 10. Maka tidak mungkin saya trade pada 1 lot (STOP LOSS : 10 pips pada 1 lot). Karena sangat besar kemungkinan STOP ini akan terkena.

Tapi bila saya tetap meresikokan USD 10, maka saya akan pilih menggunakan 0.1 lot. Krena dengan 0.1lot saya bisa menjaga STOP sampai dengan 100pips dengan resiko sama.

Memang target uangnya jadi lebih kecil, tapi kita bisa perhitungkan trading secara safe.

Ada yang pernah kasi saya nasehat: Trading adalah bagaimana kita menjaga equity, bukan masalah berapa kita WIN.

Trading Simulation di MT4

Found an interesting software: Forex Tester.

Simulated trading which similar with Meta Trader Entry/Order operations.

Trade with real data imported from M1 Meta Trader History.

Built In many Indicators and drawing functions including Fibonacci, etc.

I think the disadvatage is only unable to import custom Indicators from MT4.

Halo bro David, sebenernya ndak kemana2 nih. Sering keliatan kok bro David di YM, cuman sungkan mau nyapa disana.

Beberapa waktu lalu gak sempat trading nih, banyak urusan lain.

Jadi masih coba2 di demo system aja, belajar trading di simulasi buat ngetest prediksi ttg candle2, sekarang lagi seneng ngetest2 EA dan belajar cara kerja beberapa indikator2 sambil introspeksi gitu.

Nanti kalo aku punya pengalaman baru yang kurasa berguna aku posting disini juga deh.

Barusan juga kenal sama teman yang bisa decompile EX4.

Apakah ada semacam software based on MT4 yang gunanya untuk mensimulasikan trading. Jadi sistemnya: tanpa perlu online, memakai history data tick, dan kita bisa open posisi, sell posisi seperti trading real.

Kalo selama ini yang ada kan sebatas strategy tester, dia hanya kusus ngetest EA dan kita ndak bisa menentukan sendiri BUY dan SELL nya.

Apakah ada yang pernah tahu hal diatas?

Beberapa waktu lalu saya penah pakai breakout system. Sebenarnya ada beberapa metode breakout. Disini yang pernah saya coba adalah base market session.

System ini cukup profitable dengan trade beberapa pair sekaligus. Tetapi sangat diperhatikan Money Management disini. Sebab sangat rentan terhadap false signal yang cukup tinggi spikenya.

Breakout Session yang saya pakai (Semua dalam GMT+0):

London Breakout, Time Frame M15

- Market Tunnel = 23:00 - 07:00 (Tokyo Open)

- Breakout open > 07:00 (London Open)

- Breakout closed = 21:00 (New York Closed)

New York Breakout, Time Frame M15

- Market Tunnel = 11:00 - 13:00 (1H before and after New York Open, Big Dog Session)

- Breakout open > 13:00 (New York Session)

- Breakout closed = 21:00 (New York Closed)

Untuk pertimbangan trend dan mewaspadai false signal, saya menggunakan:

- EMAs : Trend direction

- Laguerre : memprediksi kekuatan breakout

- Woodie CCI : Trend Signal

Currency pairs yang cukup profitable adalah Major pairs seperti:

- EUR-USD

- GBP-USD

- USD-JPY

- USD-CHF

Sebaiknya jangan gunakan untuk GBP-JPY, saya pernah coba kayaknya ndak sebanding dengan grogi range pricenya deh.

Pake metode lain aja kalo untuk pair yang sangat volatile.

Wah MUANTABS sekali penjelasannya.

Nah sekarang mo tanya nih, apakah berarti sebenarnya pergerakan DOW ini ditentukan dari nilai Support Resistance ya?

Kemudian waktu pergerakan dari 9 naik ke 10 kemudian turun lagi ke 11. Nah seandainya tadi tidak ada no 11 tapi naik terus mendekati posisi awal SELL, di level mana kita putuskan untuk exit secara teknikal?

Sebab kalo dilihat dari termnya, kita kan trade cukup panjang karena menggunakan chart daily. Kalo exit terlalu dekat dengan posisi entry kan profitnya jadi "nggak sebanding" dengan lamanya waktu menunggu.

Ternyata teknik immortal yg katanya ga bakalan kalah itu adalah seperti ini (menurut mereka):

- Mengajukan account islamic di broker luar neger, jadi menurut hukum islam tidak boleh kena bunga (no swap).

- Buy & sell di mata uang yg sama sekaligus. Jadi di hedge/lock dalam satu mata uang.

- Intinya normalnya kl kita buy dapet bunga, kl sell bayar bunga. Tapi dibuat sehingga kl buy dapet bunga tp sell ga bayar bunga.

- Mungkin memanfaatkan 2 acc, 1 normal & 1 non-swap.

- Misal pasang buy gbp/jpy di acc normal trus pasang sell gbp/jpy di acc non-swap.

- akibatnya dapet bunga terus-menerus.

- Lalu kl misalkan salah satu acc kena margin call, yg lain pasti profit besar, tinggal transfer2 equity aja. Begitu seterusnya.

Ini persis 100% yang diajarkan Rob Booker di Adventure of a Currency Trader di bagian appendix :mrgreen:
