taxfreelt
A Bloomberg subscription costs $24,000 per year. But you can get nearly 85% of its features for free. It's through an app called Open Bloomberg (aka OpenBB) 1/ Go to OpenBB website here: OpenBB Terminal | OpenBB https://openbb.co/products/terminal Download the installer relevant to your system's OS. 2/ Once you install it, open the application. You should see a terminal like this: 3/ You can find in-depth information about the following: - Stocks - Crypto - ETFs - Mutual Funds - Forex - General Economic data 4/ If you type "stocks" and press enter, it will enter the stocks research mode. Within that, you can search any stock by using the "search" command followed by the company name, and it will list the different companies matching that name. 5/ Once you decide which stock you want to research, you type "load TICKER" and set the research for that specific stock. Ex: load INFY.NS When you load a specific stock, it will show a brief summary of that stock. 6/ Once you have set it for a specific stock, you can load its chart by simply typing "candle". 7/ There is so much within just the stocks research that you can explore. The screenshot attached lists out the exhaustive list of things you can explore. 8/ The following are some of the cool features: - Finding out top shorted stocks and their short interest - Dark Pool trades - Exhaustive fundamental, technical, quant scanners - Social media sentiment analysis - Comparison analysis among different stocks 9/ These are some of the technical and fundamental scanners (not the entire list) 10/ One of the coolest features is called "Due Diligence". For a specific stock (or crypto, etf, mutual fund), you can dig deep for your due diligence. This feature includes - analyst ratings - how ratings changed over time - price targets - SEC filings and so much more. 11/ You can also study a specific company's suppliers and customers through the due diligence menu. 12/ Then there's a separate section for Quantitative Analysis within stocks (and other segments as well). You get to analyse a stock through different quantitative metrics. 13/ There's a separate section for "Portfolio Management". You have to have a CSV of your portfolio stocks and trades. Once you upload it to the terminal, you can do various analysis and study on your portfolio. 14/ There are four sections other than stocks that you can do similar analysis on. - ETFs - Mutual Funds - Cryptocurrencies (from different exchanges) - Forex 15/ In the ETF section, you can look up any ETF and get the following about the respective ETF: - overview - holdings - weightage of each holding - news around the holdings - comparison between holdings 16/ In addition to those, you can also screen and discover ETFs. You can filter ETFs by returns and their activity. You can also search for ETFs by category/sector, and use AI prediction models to forecast the future of an ETF based on historical performance. 17/ You have access to similar features in Forex and Cryptocurrency sections also. In addition to these, the "Econometrics" section allows you to load your own custom datasets and run statistical tests on them. 18/ Once you start exploring the tool, you'll find many more possibilities with it. In addition to all this, this being an open source application, they have made available the API through Python. If you know Python, you can add features and customise it to your wish. 19/ You can access the OpenBloomberg tool here: https://openbb-finance.github.io Here's the Python API https://openbb-finance.github.io/OpenBBTerminal If you found this tool useful, and want give me thanks, simply register by this link ⭐ mesagio, ⭐ monkeybusiness, ⭐ Iqbal and 3 others
