profile
It would be nice if I could change the real market price of e.g. CL at 49,71 and drag/change that to e.g. 49,78 in order to see how then my Ninjatrader screen with indicators would look like. Please, understand that I am not looking to change the market price at the exchange ! So I would have a Ninja screen to trade from with the real market data and one Ninja screen with the same template but now with the option to drag/change the market price to see how the screen would look like with the indicators. This could enhance my decisionmaking a I get ahead a better picture of my Ninja screen with indicators as a result of price movements up or down. Does anyone know if there is a solution allowing to drag/change the market price? It must be done fast and easy. I have no idea how this Ninja stuff works with market data. But somewhere the Ninja screen reacts to the market data it gets. If that market data is now replaced with a manual input (e.g. drag the market price label with the mouse) on a separate Ninja screen, then that would be great. traderin

profile
Cornelis, Thank you very much for the nice seamless chart scrolling indicatior. But it is not what I am looking for. What is it I am looking for? Assume you have a Ninja chart with an arrow indicator that can show a green arrow for long and a red arrow for short. Whether the arrow is green or red is dictated by the market price. As an example: The real market price from the exchange is now 74 (e.g. CL) and as a trader I do not know at which price above the 74 the arrow indicator will show a green arrow so I want to simulate that the real market price from the exchange is not 74, but a simulated market price of e.g. 74.5. Then I want to see if the arrow indicator will show a green arrow. Not?, then I want to simulate another market price to see if a green or red arrow will appear. If I know at which price an arrow will appear, then I can pre-set a limit order and await possible execution. Please note: I do not trade with an arrow indicator, but I use the above example to explain what I am looking for. I just want to be able to dictate the market price that Ninja will use so I can see how my screen with indicators will look like at certain price levels. Maybe this can not be done with one Ninja instance running on the PC - in that case another Ninja instance can be run from a second PC so I have one PC with Ninja and the real market data from the exchange and on the other PC I have the Ninja running with the same templates, but not connected to the real market data from the exchange and instead I can set a price level (e.g. 74 with CL) to see how the Ninja screen with the indicators will look like so I can make trade decisions before price hits certain levels. I can imagine that more Ninja traders would like to know how their Ninja screen with indicators will look like at certain price levels. Now, Cornelis might get confused when I used the word drag. I just meant with drag that it would be nice if the manually set price (e.g. 74) can be set quickly by the mouse by e.g. quickly dragging the price label on a Ninja chart and set the desired price to e.g. 74 with CL. redrum28
What about using the simulated data feed on ninja? I think you can manipulate the prices up and down........ profile
traderin
i think profile want price simulation in real time along with the market price in separate chart . so that he can know how the indicators will work if price moves up or down . i am right profile
profile
Traderin: Thank you for compressing my message into comprehensive understandable language ! Yes, you are right: this is what I am looking for. Addition: Just changing the price a few ticks is what I am also looking for, not more (otherwise the gap in the real time data will have too much impact on the simulated end result on the simulated chart). traderin
