OFA bar type is a probe and rotation type bar. So, it has to probe at least certain number of ticks in one direction and then rotate back certain number of ticks in the opposite direction to complete a bar. So, if you select OFA bar size as 6,4 then bar length will be at least 6 ticks or more and then it has to rotate 4 ticks to opposite direction to complete a bar.

When they move certain ticks in opposite direction then a reversal bar is created. So, trend and reversal bar will be of fixed size based on the settings. OFA bar is different, even 6,4 OFA bar can be of length 10+ ticks or more due to the way probe and rotation works. It can probe 20 ticks before rotating back 4 ticks, so that bar length will be of 20.

Then, which is more effective, renko or OFA?

I can not say which is more effective. It depends on your trading style and markets you are trading. Some traders use renko bar as signal for entry. Some might like to read orderflow using OFA type bar. I trade S&P using Support/resistance levels, volume profile, orderflow and market internals.

I am not getting all tick on bid ask ladder of OFA with compare to GOMI BA ladder. To much volume difference.

Any setting for getting all ticks. Trade filter size set to zero.

If anyone has problems with the Ofabars not appearing in the bars list, this is the easy way to fix it: go to custom and locate a txt named ninjatrader ofa. it has only this sentence in it: bartype=9. switch this value to 4, save and reload ninja. when loading the ofabars, youll get an error, shut the error window, configure the ofabars and set the new default parameters. this with overwrite the defaults, eliminating the error
