noody
I like renko bars in back testing but don't know if in live session are good: plots several bars at the same time maybe too fast to react. What time frame do you suggest or what kind of bars/time frame to use in forex? Thanks in adavance. My best
JDubbs
You need to either adjust your renko bars to a larger time frame, or just understand how some of the renko bars work and if you are trading CL (for example), you could have several bars print immediately when the market jumps prices...it's a nature of how the bars work, but I love some of the renko bars (live on the ES). Which renko bars are you using? I use RJRenko on setting of 4 on ES (for reference)....forex you need larger, especially if spread widens and price jumps
Traderbeauty
For years I was using tick charts on the ES, once I got to this forum i found about rj- renko bars and switched and this was the best move i ever made. i use renko spectrum with several time frames starting with 1-1 , 2-1 , 3-1 , 5-1 and 7-1. i do the trading in real time and rj's renko are amazing, they dont repaint or give you false scenarios. i do my trading on the 1 and 2 renko, but the larger picture analysis is dont on the 3 5 and sometimes 7. highly recommended, cant even compare to regular renko bars. keifer
Renko is great for seeing market structure. I still like to look at time base charts as well, as they do offer some info you can't see with renko. Wouldn't worry about bars printing too fast as it's the market structure that is more important than any one bar. For Forex I like to look at 3tick renko bars as it gives good fidelity on price behaviour. If price has more volatility then will switch to a 4 tick bar. The bar size really depends on how much info you want to filter. For scalping I like to see price levels being accepted or rejected... so with FX that can be small ranges of 5-7pips. noody
can't find in /type any script named better renko :( Reinstalled another bar type and appear under data but can't see the spectrum so I suppose another indicator block it. The amazing is that I can unistall via the remove NS assembly. Could some one post a working version of the spectrum fot .14?

noody
You're right gorbat. Renamed custom dir, installed a fresh one custom and then installed spctrum: all is working fine, finally get it under types. Now the I have to try one by one which indicator is incompatible with the spctrum...long job. Thanks m8
