digitalvoice
hello I have a silly question about ninjatrader, because i dont have any experience with this plattform. Is possible have ninjatrader cracked working with a emulator and have real time data? Im asking this because i read some posts here, and it seems that this is possible. Or under a cracked ninjatrader i only need demo accounts to have real time data, and i forget the emulator? thanks in advance digitalvoice,

⭐ osijek1289
If you are looking for free data, folks are registering via CQG and/or Amp Futures and getting full futures realtime and historical data for 30 day intervals, and then via the automated process appear to be re-registering with a different email address, for another 30 day interval. Check the thread or some other one for the specifics and URLs. This combination and I believe most other datafeeds (ie., Zenfire, Kinetick, etc.) allow only 1 connection to it's datafeed; you mentioned demo accounts (plural) - if you want NT running in multiple instances - presumably on different machines - you will need multiple datafeeds registered to multiple email accounts, as outlined in the paragraph above. Running the 'emulator' is a no brainer - start it first, then launch NT7; the emulator tricks your launched NT7 into thinking it has received full license authorization - it gives you the ability to use full chart trading (as opposed to the 'free' NT7 that some brokers give, that only allows trading via the DOM). And, using a real account via this 'educated' NT7 also works fine. tradernate and plm66

Order Flow? Volume Footprint charts? Jigsaw-type tape reconstruct tools? Not really 'simple' IMO. Regardless, what you need is a datafeed, and one that offers level 2 data - all the brand names do, except for Interactive Brokers, who compresses ticks and order counts, and is thus is almost useless for any type of order flow analysis. The 2 tools or versions of order flow that I mentioned, are not native to NT, and there are a number of 'educated' and some free add-ons (indicators) you would need to install onto NT7. The 'emulator' you are mentioning and that is used for the 'educated' NT7 is simply a license authorization tool to give you NT7 for free. Of the many 'brokers' out there, most offer a datafeed for 'free' in return for your (real money) trading account, making $ of your market transactions. Check the thread for any free datafeed demos from the datafeed provider directly; when we/you say 'broker', it's because they offer the datafeed trial/demo, which will eventually lead to you potentially opening a real trading account with them. tradernate

If you are new to trading .. start with a simulated account and you can always download ninjatrader which will help you in your simulation trades. second have some capital -- min usd $ 2500 and open a new account with AMP futures in USA who will give you a live account feed. practice first then when you are confident then you can purchase the actual license of ninjatrader which you can pay month by month and in 4 months you own that product. We all have purchased lifetime license for NINJATRADER. This forum just helps for any indicators that goes with ninjatrader for trading futures - stocks etc. In my opinion you are just wasting our time and your's trying to be too cheap not to buy the actual product which is and will be your foundation for the rest of your trading career. So my advice get the Ninjatrader and come here and we will all be able to help you out to set up the indicators and charts. Good Luck ! ⭐ osijek1289
I'm new to order flow too. I have a emulated NT7 installed on my computer and gives me free data from external sources but i cant update that data automatically, to update i need to close the chart and reopen again.OK, lots of concerns/questions here. You sound like you are currently importing data from yahoo or some other free source, more than likely only daily data. Thus, you are only pulling in historical data - not sure if it is daily or minute data (and, from that minute data you may be building 15M, H1 charts, or whatever other timeframe). Few people will use the import data feature of NT7; and, when you do, since it is not real time, you have to grab data you don't have - if you right click your NT chart, there is a IMPORT HISTORICAL DATA option to refresh - if that does not work, I guess you have to exit and restart NT7 - that is incredibly cumbersome. And, even with an account of less than a few tens of thousands of dollars, an incredibly difficult way to trade (against daily charts; if they are spot forex or futures data, whether it be daily of minute data, without a real time datafeed, your capital will not exist for long IMHO) Is impossible to make order flow analisys in these conditions?? No. You will lose your mind. And time. And thus be grossly unproductive clicking around and exiting/entering. You will spend too much of your brain cycles doing needless "keep NT running and data updated" type work. But with a demo account that analisys can be done, because the chart update automatically?A proper live datafeed is comprised of two components: the ability to pull historical data, and the ability to receive realtime data. When you have a proper datafeed coming into NT, your charts will update 'automatically' as you say, because realtime data is flowing in. BTW, I am not sure what you are trading (futures, spot forex, stocks?) Not sure if you are aware, but not all datafeeds offer everything. The only thing that i need now to have a good strategy is order flow, but i dont know yet how to make this interpretation. I think this is the last piece of the puzzle. Is there any better way to achieve this with other methods and plattforms? I think you are being far too optimistic. Order flow - and a good strategy - is not the holy grail, is in no way guaranteed, nor is it ever never ever the last piece of the puzzle. You sound like you are quite new to trading; I will provide you some advice based on the hundreds of thousands (and more) people who have preceeded you: there is no single strategy that works all the time. Period. And, if it works for you ten trades in a row, the 11th could be a news flash or something else that takes out half your accumulated profits of the previous ten trades. @445NDO 's advice is spot on: you may be only discovering the 1st piece of a puzzle, that needs hundreds of pieces. I'm still not sure what you mean by order flow and what visual/graphic format you plan to use within NT7; I gave some examples in a previous post. You do sound new to trading - starting with volume footprint charts is a big step. And, depending on the instrument and market(s) you trade, it can behave quite differently. Assuming you or someone is quite comfortable with the basics of price action, support/resistance, fibs, channels, retraces, chart patterns, flags, etc - it is only after that that I would dive into true order flow. There have been some excellent resources posted here that talk about true order flow recently; I'll list a few below - if you have not viewed everything that is in these presentations - plus anything else those folks have produced and then practiced it for hunderds (yes, I said hundreds) of hours - and understood it, and had any success rate, you are far from any last piece of any puzzle. digitalvoice
great post osijek. Iam not new to trading. Iam interested in forex only because i trade forex for almost a year and most of this time was dedicated to learn. These process of learning take me about 12 hours a day . basically my accounts with forex is mini accounts, because i just want to learn untill now. I understand very well the concepts of support and resistance, moving averages, and maybe a thousand of indicators wich i consider garbage. (this is for metatrader only). The only thing that really works for me in forex is support and resistance levels, fibonacci levels, moving averages and some gann concepts of timing the markets. All this combined in a multitimeframe strategy is really close to the holy grail. That's why i say the order flow can be the last piece of the puzzle, or maybe not. But i have to study this first. I have a ninjatrader 7 multibroker educated and when I switch on the emulator the data appears in the chart, even if it is 1 minute chart. what happens next is that the chart dont update anymore. but i have to study more this point. thanks osijek,

⭐ osijek1289
Ah cool @digitalvoice ... so you started in spot fx like I did! Sry, did not realize you have been paying 12hrs/day dues so far lol! I don't think you mentioned what you mean by order flow, but the 'usual' order flow - which is volume footprint charts, DOM price action, & tape reading - is least of all applicable to spot fx. That's because the volume is not centralized, and order flow relates to and assume complete volume, which isn't the case with any one spot fx feed, since, there are so many banks around the planet that are pumping in volume. (something like VSA can and does work with a decent spot fx feed, but it generally isn't considered part of the 'order flow family') Overall, order flow is presumed to work for instruments like currency futures, all CME/Nymex/Eurex futures, and stocks. and anything with centralized and sole-sourced volume. You sound like you're almost there with your NT7 - if you're able to get a 1 minute chart, I'm not sure why you don't have a realtime chart update as part of what sounds like some sort of existing datafeed. If you need help around this, let us know. Edited August 10, 2013 by osijek1289

I dont know nothing about ninjatrader. Iam newbie in this plattform. This is a cr@cked version of nt7 multibroker live. What i do to get this run: 1 - I start the emulator 2 - I connect to a external datafeed, and nothing more, I dont put any user or password 3- I choose my chart and i can open what symbol i want, at least for forex. 4- the historical data appears in realtime, but dont update automatically. To update I have to push again the historical data and than updates. This is a version of audrey, wich i think he was the mentor of this cr@cked version. Now i have to test the indicators. ⭐ osijek1289
Interesting. I'm going to guess the default config.xml file allows for NT to connect to the CQG/Amp historical servers - that connection is made when you start NT7, and thus on start downloads all the current data in 1 minute format (which allows you to build charts of most any other timeframe). But, since a real-time data input depends on you opening a demo data-feed account with someone like Ampfutures and you have not done that, when you start NT there is no realtime datafeed connection made (FYI, they are 2 separate data connections that NT makes: 1) historical and 2) realtime). But, when you refresh your charts, it pulls in everything from the historical server, and you thus have updated charts.
