How to use .php file

I I download an indicator as .mt4 format, I understand how to compile and use it. But often a file which is in mt4 format actually downloads as xxxx.mt4.php. I've tried re-naming the file and deleting the .php, but that doesn't seem to work. How do I get the .mt4 file I thought I was downloading?
