keifer
Have read his book. Alot of fluff with a few interesting ideas. He kind of has his own language for things. I think his basic premise is to focus on identifying accumulation and distripution areas. Having looked at some of his free vids it looks to be a guess at best as he calls it after price has moved out of the range. He hasn't really said anything that made me think he has more of an edge than the next guy.
rob123
I agree Keifer. His software is way overpriced and this is how he makes his money. With the conversations i've had with him he thinks he is a Mr know it all. Ask him for a statement and let me know what he says.Basically all he does is wait for accumulation say 4 are 5 candles or bars then a break out are impulse move then places a limt order wherethe ipulse move started.Trading on the 10 minutes charts can be very risky also. Just my 2 cents. Rob
keifer
Read Master the Markets by Tom Williams. Thinking Cole's stuff is very similar to this. I suspect the PATS software is another type of VSA system.
josephR
[Req] MartiinCol3's newest DVD release! Here is the code: hxxp://learningt0trade.c0m/one-on-one-trader-training/ He has just released his latest DVD set which is tenth the price of his 1 on 1 course and should be interesting. I think it should be better than Steve Mauro (locally known as fxArch3r http://indo-investasi.com/images/smilies/winking.gif!). But I would like a peek before spending my money. So, please share if and when you get it. Many thanks, josephR

Or is it the same and Martin was a student of Steve's or something its unlikely both hit upon the same idea independently.

jbozman
I watched a few of his videos. I agree with everyone. Keifer, you are dead on. He has his own language for things like that 5StarTrading system or supertradingsystem. These guys speak in tongues. I haven't a clue where they get their language from. What they say is just a bunch of junk. In other words, they give the impression they are really saying something, but nothing really is said. I didn't notice any proprietary anything or a special way of capturing moves. He turns his candles into dojis and enters with a limit order. In one video, he said he made 243 pips or so. Well, if you're on the right side of the trade, you will make money. So he timed it or guessed right. That's his edge? Overpriced stuff, and a proprietary trading platform you have to subscribe to for $197.00 per month? Not sure if that is USD or EUR. In either case, it doesn't look or sound worth it to me. I don't know enough about either to give you an informed opinion. I watched a webinar by Steve and Martin's online teaser videos. Steve's appearance here at the forum has left a bad imprint and I don't care for his sneaky/aggressive traits. I think both are exploiting Spot Market behaviors we all have observed. Whether they have the right methodology to counter those profitably, remains to be seen. In Vegas, they sell you books on "How To Beat the Dealer..." right in the casinos! I have a feeling there is a parallel here ;-) josephR hermanhess
ST_Fund
I can say right now that martin cole has been around a long time, i knew of him way back when i worked in the city, hes a successful real trader that has already made his money from trading and has been teaching his method at least 10 years that i know of, Mauro is just a salesman, martin is a trader, the secret with martin is his own developed software that he uses which helps identify when the market makers make their move. keifer
Anyone tried his PAT software? I had a look at some of his charts he posted versus the same 15m time period on EUR/USD candlestick charts. The 'belief bars' or whatever he calls it, match up with large candles that are engulfing in nature. I'm guessing if a large candle is bullish and within a range then the bias is market maker accumulation of buys. Nothing you can't see on regular charts though. Perhaps the PAT software uses buy/sell volume which is available on futures. He may have designed his own software to interpret price, but it can only ever use the same data that everyone else has access to. If this guy really had figured out how to read market maker intent.... he'd have been hired by a bank a long time ago. The more I learn about market makers actions the more I think its quite simply... find the trapped trader, exploit his pain and stop him out. jbozman
Just because Mauro doesn't trade live doesn't mean he isn't a trader. I listened to Martin Cole. He sounds like a quack. Some of his trades are for such few pips, too. While I understand we all have trades that go against us or are scratches, he speaks in a way that I don't get. And it isn't the language barrier, either. I've met traders from Denmark and other foreign countries. We all speak different languages, but we all speak Forex. I don't get what language Martin speaks at times. If you can't explain your method easily, what kind of tradeable method is it? I received a few personal emails from Martin and was left confused as ever about his method and how he trades. Steve isn't confusing at all. He tells you what the Market Makers do. His method is clear to me. While the setups might not be as clean as he shows, they do occur. Mauro is about letting the cherry trades come to him. He doesn't trade just to trade to chase anything. Seems like Martin trades just to trade. Listen to some of Martin's videos and tell me what the heck he says. I did. Didn't know what he was saying. viking951
Having been unfortunate enough to spend good money on a martin cole seminar in Competa 10 tears ago. I would advise extreme caution. He spouted a complete load of rubbish and of the 7 traders on the course non of them went on to trade successfully. PATS used the same programmer as VSA and also FIRST.
