agostini
I have just recently installed the above setup. Owndata is working and is downloading ticks from esignal. TS8 is opening fine. WHEN i click on the icon to create a chart, it freezes. It opens a CSCO chart window with no chart and says "waiting for data". If I right click on the chart window it freezes. It used to work before I had recently reformatted my computer. TS8.5 b2289 used to work aswell and it freezes also. For the few seconds that the window is open and does not freeze I have managed to click on a 24-hour session window which seemed to work for some but it freezes after that for me. Please help me get around this. Thanks
⭐ osijek1289
'Waiting for data' means owndata is not sending TS what it wants or is expecting. You can check the status window at the bottom of Owndata for clues. You didn't mention it, but I assume you are using free forexite data, where, CSCO is of course not available. You didn't mention if you are using forexite/globalserve data - if you are, try the following. Assuming you're trying to bring up the GS:EUR A0-FX chart, within Quotemanager (Owndata), right click the symbol, choose edit data, & under the settings tab try toggling to 'use custom settings' (assumes you had gone through the 5x24 hours of opreation setup process for owndata, as per the instructions. Also, under the sessions tab, try use custom 'session template option.' If no combinations of those toggle your chart into working, within TS try the options other than 24hr or regular (they're pre and post market) - if at some point it works, it is finding the right combination of output to get owndata to send TS what it needs. agostini
Thanks for responding so soon. When it comes to datafeeds Im paying for an eSignal feed for futures and I have Globalserver also. TS8 only crashes when I right-click to "Format Symbol" in the chart window. I cant get around that with either TS8 8.5 or 8.7 8.5 used to work and I have never had 8.7 workin yet. Now both will open and allow me to go into easy language or other things. What do you think of this idea? You create a workspace with a 1-min chart of maybe the ES thats linked to Globalserver. Save the workspace and send it to me. I will then try and open that. If you dont have the data I could send it to you and frankly any other symbols you would like in thanks for helping me. Thanks again ps I see others have thanked and its increased in your counter, how do I do that?
⭐ osijek1289
Hmm ... sounds like owndata might be the problem. It is the crucial layer and linkage/linker between eSignal, and getting/sending the data to TS. I don't think my creating a workspace and sending it will solve it, if owndata is indeed the problem. It sounds like owndata has not been setup and authorized/unlocked for use ... I recall having this issue too. (And I assume you have used the switch program, #5 below). Sorry if I am repeating things here, but are you absolutely certain owndata has the keycode, is unlocked, and ready for use? The problem sounds like it is not, and I know from personal experience, it is tricky to authenticate. Also, I am assuming you have downloaded the entire package of TS & Owndata from that russian site - owndata should be version 8015.400 (is part of the install filename) - it was documented that other editions do not always work in combo with TS 8.7 3085. Not sure if you have these instructions for installing everything - this is the only place I could find the english version; it was written for a slightly different version, but it is easy to find the changes: http://fliiby.com/file/835846/vr0lk57sdz.html Also, you didn't mention what happens when you type into the TS chart that you want say symbol "ES: EUR A0 FX" (or, you can just change the chart to a different timeframe) and if or what appears at the bottom of the Quotemanager (Owndata) window - the second you hit enter, it should roll up with the request in that bottom status window. Just for safety and at the risk of repetition, these Owndata instructions need to be followed exactly, and you must receive the "Thank You for Registration" message after you do these steps, otherwise, owndata has not been correctly installed. 1. Run OwnDataRegistrator.exe from License Generator folder and enter any name and email, press "Register"-button. Save OwnData2.RegInfo to any folder. Exit from OwnDataRegistrator.exe 2. Run keygen.exe from License Generator folder and generate own TSSKey file. Exit from keygen. Note: keygen.exe detected for almost any antivirus because this is protected .exe file. Most of antivirus detected protected exe. Need disable all antivirus for run keygen.exe 3. Install OwnData_2.7.8015.400.exe after finish installation close registration window. 4. Windows Start - Owndata - Registration - Press button Unlock and choice TSSKey which was generated in step 2. Press OK. After it you must see message "Thank you for registration". 5. Windows Start - Owndata - Switch Let me know how it turns out ... and, thanks for the thanks. :-)
agostini
Success. Thankyou very much. Yours advice worked perfect. Is there anything I can help you with? What do you trade if you dont mind me asking? Thanks again
⭐ osijek1289
Cool & excellent - glad it worked for you. Owndata is very particular. I trade spot fx and some ES, using a lot of volume spread analysis. One of the best TS indis is emini-watch's Better Pro Am for the NOS and NOD - best timeframes are hourly and 3 and 4 minute (better than 5 minute) for catching reversals. 10 minute works great too. Should work phenomenally well on actual exchange provided volume futures like 6E, 6B. Give it a go - I am quite certain you will be amazed. JimJamBonks
Osijek1289 - Did you really run the Keygen.exe? A Virustotal.com scan of it makes dire reading. Being as you've already done it, is there any chance you could share the OwnData2.RegInfo and OwnData2.TTSKey files you generated? That would be a HUGE service. :o)
JimJamBonks
Scrap my last request. I ran the Keygen.exe through a sandbox app ( sandboxie.com ) and now OwnData 2.7 and TradeStation 8.3 are pulling data from my eSignal feed beautifully. Thanks everybody.. :o)

Rather than look for alternate solutions, my intention was to set up TS on a dedicated machine, and I did so. May or may not be a false positive on the keygen.exe - I don't use the TS machine for anything else, but from what I can tell, it doesn't seem to have any unusual bevahiour or unknown exe's in the task list, and it's been working fine for months now. Good eventual solution to use Sandbox.
