chrisbenjy
Thanks for the share Kraven. I haven't tried any so I don't know if their good (some of them should be). However, this site can help a lot with learning to code MQL because it shows the source code of each EA/Indicator. You can use them if your stuck trying to code something, you can look at them and try to find a solution to your problem.
iwjw
you can sort the EAs by profit_factor or drawdown and that's great
kraven
i haven't got a clue, lol.....as i said i don't use or know much about EA's or their codings, but i did notice the source codes and profit/drawdowns.....anyway i'm glad it helped...if you find a good one then let me know ; )
halcyonn
I have decided to scour through the ea repository on that website and test the eas and those that would show promise would be brought here alongwith 90 percent modelling quality backtests and suggestions and insights if can come up with any for each ea. the eas and backtest will be posted in this thread. chrisbenjy
you can sort the EAs by profit_factor or drawdown and that's great The only drawdown to this is that the back test's are created by the author and other people who have used the EA, but they are usually very specific periods. So that suggests that anything outside this period will lose.
halcyonn
The Magic RSI ea is a reasonably good one.it would need optimisation once every couple of months for the stop and sl values. my best settings have 13 pip tp and 39 pip sl for 30 min eurusd charts. the rsi values may not be played with as they are there after some thought on the subject. http://depositfiles.com/files/l8cbyc96b Strategy Tester Report Magic RSI AlpariUK-Demo (Build 229) Symbol EURUSD (Euro vs US Dollar) Period 30 Minutes (M30) 2010.01.04 00:00 - 2011.01.18 23:30 (2010.01.01 - 2011.01.19) Model Every tick (the most precise method based on all available least timeframes) Parameters Lots=1; MaxBuyOrders=1; MaxSellOrders=1; BuyRSI=12; SellRSI=90; RSITF=15; RSIL=9; MATF=15; MA1=13; MA2=39; StopLoss=390; TakeProfit=130; TargetLevel=20; Slippage=1; LotIncrease=false; IsAcctMini=false; UseSound=false; Bars in test 10360 Ticks modelled 8734131 Modelling quality 90.00% Mismatched charts errors 0 Initial deposit 10000.00 Total net profit 2429.20 Gross profit 7277.20 Gross loss -4848.00 Profit factor 1.50 Expected payoff 35.72 Absolute drawdown 629.10 Maximal drawdown 1181.10 (11.19%) Relative drawdown 11.19% (1181.10) Total trades 68 Short positions (won %) 21 (80.95%) Long positions (won %) 47 (82.98%) Profit trades (% of total) 56 (82.35%) Loss trades (% of total) 12 (17.65%) Largest profit trade 130.00 loss trade -404.00 Average profit trade 129.95 loss trade -404.00 Maximum consecutive wins (profit in money) 14 (1817.30) consecutive losses (loss in money) 2 (-808.00) Maximal consecutive profit (count of wins) 1817.30 (14) consecutive loss (count of losses) -808.00 (2) Average consecutive wins 5 consecutive losses 1 My dear friend IWJW looked through the magic rsi ea and he informed me that Magic RSI ea has a magic number in its code.it would eb agood idea to check Pivot Limit ea to see if it has magic number in it.if not then it is requested that coding gurus add it to the ea.
