eric07
still can't believe people still searching a robot that no guarantee long term profit. I prefered searching a system rather than Ea's.
soundfx
Hi halcyonn, A backtest with anything less than 90% modelling quality is worthless. I've seen EA's which would make you a millionaire in weeks with poor modelling which when tested properly give a thumping great loss instead. I've seen other posts on the net about this EA and the faked results and what Clovelly has pointed out is an absolute classic lol. I agree with eric07, there is no magic automated system (certainly not on sale for $97 lol) which you can simply plug in and it will consistently earn you all the cash you need. If trading was really that easy, wouldn't the banks be running stacks of EAs rather than employing manual traders? If you're interested in making money from trading, then manual trading is the way to go. I don't suggest trying all out new systems with a zillion fancy indicators either. There are some good links here to ebooks on price action and reading naked charts - that's all anyone needs for a system, all the rest is about perseverance (learning from your mistakes), psychology (overcoming greed and fear emotions), sensible money management (preserving your capital) and focus (paying full attention to current market conditions and being adaptable when conditions change) when trading. Not that you'll listen to what I say :) I did exactly the same several years ago and wasted those years looking for the perfect automated (easy money) system which doesn't exist. halcyonn and freddy

⭐ fxknight
This is a cheapened version of Megadroid_XE (or EA Kain) for that matter. I recommend using the MD_XE original that was posted in this forum if you are into Asian trading. Cheers halcyonn

I would be interested to see what your back test looks like at 90% quality to see if it is similar to mine.

mopips
Wow! I don't understand why your backtests are so different than mine. I'm going to have to do more backtesting to see if I can figure out how to get profitable results like you did. Thanks for sharing your tests. mopips
halcyonn, one thing that would be helpful is to know what the spread was when you ran each backtest. As most of us and you probably know, the MT4 backtester uses whatever the current spread is at the time the backtest starts for the whole test. This can be an issue when testing an asian scalper like this as spreads are often quite a bit higher during the asian session as liquidity is much lower. I run my backtests with MT4 offline so I have a fixed consistent spread for my backtests. I try to use a spread that is as close as possible to the average spread during the asian session. Now, this doesn't mean my backtests are better than yours as they may not be, but it would be good to know the spread for each backtest so we can compare apples to apples. I'm not sure if spread is the difference between your tests being profitable and mine being unprofitable, but it's something to consider. halcyonn
Piphore, yes i ran an optimisation later and then did the backtest.inputs for each backtest are visible in the posted tester snapshot. Mopips,i just double checked my first long backtest was yesterday from jan 1999 to october 2010 and it started a little before 2300 gmt and was done during somewhat larger spreads of upto 3.5 rather than the usual 2.that 11 year backtest had 89.97 modelling quality. One win one loss etc. Honestly, I am getting tired testing these Eas. Guy looks genuine on the video, builds everyone's hope and the same bs. I don't get these guys. True, but we both have money management turned off on our backtests, so risk is irrelevent in this case. And if I try to backtest with money management turned on, it produces tons of ordersend errors and doesn't take trades. Since the purchase is fully refundable what's the point. I keep asking myself a question: is there an EA that makes money? Jack Hi Jack, I think you are perfectly right. But you know that all buyers won't ask for refund. Marketers know the psychology of buyers. If they have 30%/50% refund they can keep up their good business for the next one to produce! Usually, buyers (at the beginning) go from one EA to the next one, hoping for the graal. They don't have the patience to test thoroughly, so some "keep their EAs "on the shelf for the cold winter in front of chimney" and forget to ask for refund. Anyway, they open their mailbox with the almost everyday "new never seen, make a fortune, own the world" hottest EA, and it is a never ending game. As to "is there an EA that makes money?", I would say I did not find any commercial EA being able to perform well in all market conditions and unatended. But i am sure you can find some decent ones if you put them at work only at certain hours for some, or in the direction of the trend for others... You can have a look at fx4_ever grid trading strategy, or also look at xxl205 ideas (very interesting) http://indo-investasi.com/showthread.php/9026-Blessing-3-v3.8.1?p=112691#post112691[/Code] ...but as always it requires some work and some understanding at how the markets work. freddy
