It is best on H1 and H4 (recommended), but it works too on M15 and M30.

I would not trade it on M15 because there is too much noise which will result in too many losses.

Going to try it today. Couldn't click on thanks button since I apparently exceeded my daily limit, but will do so tomorrow (24 hour waiting period my friend). Didn't want you to think I was unappreciative.

On a funny note, I found one active poster that asks for thanks for his postings and has over 200 thanks given to him. His record shows he's never thanked anyone in return. Some people need a Gibbs Slap.

All volatile pairs are good.

EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF, USDJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY .... etc.

If you look on the EURGBP H4-chart, even there we would get good trades.

Maybe just enter when the SMA-21 is crossed and not wait until the bar has closed.

It helps to watch the angle of the SMA 21 and only take trades into the proper direction ( angle up ---> only long , angle down ----> only short trades )

I like the clean chart.

Hi everybody,

This manual trading system seems good and profitable if using on at least 1h timeframe. 1h and 4h timeframe is good for reliable signals.

If we add EMA34, and watch for price to see how it reacts above / can not get through down to go long, and reacts below / can not get through up to go short.

Long time ago, I happened to see some guys (his posting of charts) who trade this similar system with SMA21 and EMA34 in combination with very good results. He also used CCI50 as oversold (to go long when crossing above oversold zone), and as overbought (to go short when crossing below overbought zone). At that time, I was still very newbie, and did not pay attention to learn his trading tactics and when, how he went long/went short.

So, please try this setup and see if we can have a good combination of these common, but powerful indicators for MT4 or not.

Regards,

James

I am trying to understand what you are saying.

For example:

If EMA34 is below SMA21 and price crosses SMA from above downwards -----> wait and see if it crosses EMA34 too and only then go short ?

If it does not close below EMA34 then don´t take the trade although the candle closed below SMA21 and AO is red ?

Please clarify.

This is a simple but very effective and powerfull method.

fxeasy5, thanks for your sharing spirit.

like David, my thank button is gone again ! (i don't understand this rule of waiting 24h, what is the interest?)

anyway, i'll give it in time!

But fxeasy, aren't you afraid that Donna takes your S.E.P.method and begins next week to sell it renamed : new" Method312" ?

And it should be a winner this time! (at last!)

Have a good day.

freddy, thanks for your comments.

I think that this method ( it is not mine, I only found it in the pile of trading systems on my harddrive ) is far better than the Method311 .

This is a simple but very effective and powerfull method.

It needs only 2 Standard indicators:

SMA 21

Awesome Oscillator

I have put 2 templates ( for different taste ) into the package.

There you´ll find the Awesome Oscillator with Alerts which is helpfull because

the entry setup happens when the Awesome Oscillator bars turn from green to red and vice versa.

How about the exit ? Thanks before.

No special rules for exit.

As usual you can chose from

1. S/R levels

2. Fib-levels

3. close when AO changes color

4. close when price touches SMA21

5. other indicators

I'm thinking of making an EA for this strategy (shouldn't be very hard). I was wondering if people in the thread could specify how they want to use the 34 ema?

The Awesome Oscillator is really a 5 sma cross of 34 sma shown as a histogram.

On your chart you have price which could be interpreted as 1 sma crossing the 21 sma.

So you are basically trading 2 sma crossovers. If the 21 sma is above the 34 sma you are in an uptrend, & vice versa.
