joeytrader
looks like a variation on some oscillator to indicate overbought and oversold areas, will be interested to seeing this if anyone will share.
San4x
Do some research. You'll find he's referring to Dr. George Lane. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Lane_%28technical_analysis%29): George Lane (technical analysis) George Lane M.D. (1921 – July 7, 2004) was a Doctor of Medicine, securities trader, author, educator, speaker and technical analyst. He developed and popularized the stochastic oscillator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stochastic_oscillator), which is one of the core indicators used today among technical analysts. Lane was also President of Investment Educators Inc. in Watseka, Illinois, where he taught investors and financial professionals basic and advanced technical analysis methods. Also the formula he's showing is the %K of the stochastic indicator. Nothing special here. He's just trying to wrap his service he's selling in a different package. Cheers, San. joeytrader
Hmmmm, since I did not sign up to his email list, and without taking up on his offer, I only hope he offers something of value more than just a stochastic indicator for the $2K price tag mentioned in JSavoy's post above. If he is just selling a freely available indicator for $2K, then he has to be even more Karl-Dittmann-ish than Karl Dittmann himself!! (Sorry, I just can't think of anyone else who more epitomizes the classic selling someone else's free system/indicator/ea for marketing/re-packaging price). businessman9821
Hmm, from now on we should refer to this type of marketing as pulling a *Karl Dittmann*. I guarantee it'll catch on real quick. And soon you will see other forums using this term. And we can say that it all started here :) Thank you San4x for the research! litxus82
Ok, let's analyze: "Flashpoint Gives You the Trend’s Direction, Then Tells You When to Buy or Sell!". In other words MA gives you direction and then CCI, Stoch or RSI gives you overbought or oversold zones for entry. One word BULLSHIT! http://worldcurrencywatch.com/2010/07/20/files/2010/07/072010_FXUD_image1.gif
