Rio Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I'd only have a stop loss that huge if I was trading on a daily time frame with the intention to leave the trade open for days or even weeks. Furthermore, that stop loss would be at a *specific* S/R level at which I would probably take a reverse trade it if it ever breached. It's not a risky thing to do if you know the daily/weekly trend is strong and in your favour... but there's no way I'd accept a SL that big on a scalper or something that trades on lower timeframes. noziggity81 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 No stop loss... have you... lost... your MARBLES??? LOL jk :P No Stop Loss. :)) Quote
fxeasy5 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Who needs an EA without a SL ? I think newbies who never saw an EA ruin their accounts. Thank you. The hippo bippo EA is not for me. Quote
huuu Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Without stoploss?! Very dangerous isn't it? 4xproject results is not good though Have you read the manual? Setting the sl at 0 does not mean no stop loss, it means that the ea makes the sl in a dynamic manner. Just back test it and see for your self. shag1 and ylidor 2 Quote
halcyonn Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 huuu my dear, what about the usdchf open position in my posted backtest from opened 1.16 which was kept alive till 1.06. it does try to close psoitions profitable and for a stop but its a bad ea too as it starts hoping like human traders, the ones that don't make dough, that the market will return and even if 1000 pip loss is being carried by a position, its holding it so where tester ends the position closes so result can be compiled. earlier the 1000 pip loss was a drawdown and then it closes and becomes a loss, regsitering onto the balance side rather than the equity only. hermes Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 There are 2 versions of Hippo! v1.0 has no stop loss but v1.1 has stop loss 100pips. Hermes Quote

Also did you check the log file to make sure that you did not have any "order modify" problems when you ran the back test. These order modify problems is an error that I frequently encounter when backtesting, which gives me some concern in relying on them to decide whether or not an ea is any good. Quote
halcyonn Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 huuu dear i did not look nor am i scruplous enough. backtest has to be good for me once i have got the inputs as shud be and i would let the ea through...so to speak. Quote

hermes Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 FX Hippo disappointed me! It is a loser. Cleans my demo. Probably wrong settings, who knows? FX Hacked v2.3 is a king! But nobody can take the restriction for trading live accounts. Could trade only demos. Hermes Quote
