just to add to the profitability debate.....over the last 2 1/2 months i have lost money with mdpro, about 20% of my account, 8 currencies/adt on an alpari classic account.

 

However over the same period i have run the original md eurusd with adt (updating of course and now the current version), on my alpari micro account i am up 8.6% and on my active trades account I am up 19%, my activtrades account in september is up 100% (in comparative profit) on my alpari account, same software same settings (even though the alapri account has more money in it!!).

 

So i think there is life in the original md eurusd.....the bug (for me) seems to be mdpro......secondly my own figures highlight the importance of finding the right broker too.

Finally where can you 8.6% at a bank these days let alone 19%??

 

btw all the accounts are live of course......

 

maybe we get too focused on what isn't working which blinds us to really dig out and focus on what is working and making it work better?

Fortunately I do not have so bad results with Md and MDPro

September is approx +10% in my reel account with this 2 Ea's, but I close manually all the trades near 01:00 (gmt+2, so it's 23:00GMT). This avoid some no good trades to become big losers when Tokyo start. This made me also miss some nice trades but I prefer this case.

I run Md Original multipair and MDPRO (bbr v07). Finally since all the trades started with Md Original are also started with MDPRO, I deleted Md Original today. MDPRO makes more trades, may be because I run It in Tf15.

In demo account it make approx +50% since mid July

i don't run multipair but the one supplied by md and it does produce different results than multipair and different results to mdpro....the problem i found test to live was that forward testing on alpari uk bore no resemblance at all to the live classic account, testing was almost pointless, not even close and i was running them side by side, in testing i found mdpro much steadier than multipair.

 

I have avoided manual intervention completely..(generally asleep :) )......................

 

However I'd be interested in the pairs times and risk you are running if you wish to share ?

i think i smell faked and edited results.

 

everybody i know running megadroid is taking trades and loosing yet the authors [still] claim

You know... I'm really starting to think that the only way to trade the markets is to develop your own system.

Asian session scalping just seems to be a well worn strategy that the brokers are aware of.

 

Truth of the matter is, it only ever gets you about 10 pips per trading session, and there are other manual systems and other scalping systems that can probably get you more than that daily.

we loss, but thats not the MDP problem. i think it is our problem that dont know which pairs is good for trade and which setting for each par. considering this issue i did a very complete backtest and analyze for 10 pairs in 2 modes of aggressive and conservative. here is the result:

if i then extend that to a live account running adt conservative settings, alpari uk classic account, roughly within your back test period the only pairs that have made a profit are EURGBP,eurusd,usdchf, eurchf (no trades).

 

My losses came from audusd (biggest) eurjpy,gbpchf,gbpusd (second biggest,)usdjpy.......i'm not sure at what point you bin it and start looking at other ea's tha tseem to be performing more regularly?? e.g cloverix,forex hacked forex bomerang to name but a few...all said and done i'm not quite at the end of the road with mdpro..just getting close...

obviously, that is my point, they claim no trades yet everybody else is trading, these results are not LIVE they are imbedded within the web page and can be edited at any stage by whoever.

 

if they were real live stats why dont they have myfxbook, mt4stats or mt4live ? because they cannot edit those results and claim no trades

You're right. We have to build our own system. But start from zero with a new original strategy is not a easy task. I have one that I try to program, not yet finished.

Anyway I think than MdPro have a good potential IF and ONLY IF we modify some setting regularely when the market change.

Personnaly I had nice results during this summer with MDPRO, but for each pair I have different settings (logic and hours), and in september I changed the Hours settings since I saw that the Tokyo start is very volatile. So with 19:00 -21:30 (GMT) range (that is very different from original settings that are 21:00-23:00) I get nice results. Moreover, I close (first manually, now I had some code for that) ALL the positions at 23:45 GMT. With that I lost some good trades but I also never pain with SL hit. Less winning trades for sure, but step by step account increase.

It's not the holy grail but I am confident with this system, not blindly, I watch it carefully.

I still think this EA has potential as long as you respect basic trading rules. No trading on medium and high impact news and bank holidays. I'm 50 pips up in September but would have been at least 100 pips in positive if I'd strictly respect no trading time rules. This is counter trend EA so don't expect miracles. I see that some of you risk way too much per trade. Again follow 1-2% risk per trade rule so when you hit SL (remember that max SL of MDPro is 150pips) it's not the end of the world. I know it's hard to resist big profits using big lot sizes and/or high leverage but keep in mind that risk/reward ratio of MDPro is 15:1 in worst case scenario so good MM is VERY important. I'll give it a run for another 3 months (or until loosing 20% of my account) and then decide if I'm going to use it further or not. Just my 2c.

MDPro already cater the ECN broker.

You just need to change the last parameter of the "openOrder" function from 0 to 1

That approach will also work, but actually is not required. MD always tries to send order using the non-ECN mode first, and if that fails, will retry with ECN-mode. So, leaving the code as is should be ok for ECN brokers.

Hi all! Todays live trades +31 pips. I closed EUR/GBP manually at 0.30am GMT+2 because of news and I'm glad I did. Otherwise it would be floating 50pips in negative now.
