I'll wait for the market close to begin my series of backtests.

 

I will do for each pair with each logic to determine what is the best logic for each pair and especially with what Maxi Drawdown.

 

It will take some time and I may not be finished this weekend but I think it's important.

Am I the only one making great profits tonight? None of my MD Pro trades have hit the stop loss. I only have it running on EURUSD, EURGBP, EURCHF and GBPUSD. I disabled the Aggressive mode on EURGBP and EURCHF tho since they were usually the trades that would hit me.

Yes crazy night. Did you see this 150+ pips spike on USD unemplayment claims. I knew I shouldn't let EA trade but I let it anyway :hammer: I hit 2 S/L on live account (EUR/USD, GBP/USD), luckily other trades came out profitable so I'm break even now. ATC (which uses FXCM datasheet) started trading 1h later and ended up with big profits.

I've done the tests on every pair with every logic for past 3 years before I started trading with MDPro and ended up with logics I'm using. But diffrent logic won't help you with conditions like tonight (bank holidays + US medium impact news event). Low market liquidity means possibility of stonger volatility. We just shouldn't trade in such conditions but some of us did and we paid for our stupidity

Well today was a really great trading session. Unfortunately not good enough to make up for the damage of Japan's "Silver Week" but positive none-the-less

 

I think I will be sticking with Aggressive off for all pairs going into next month too. A little backtracking through my live account history has shown that the S2 trades have lost me the most money. In addition these trades trail on into the European open (danger danger) giving me heart-attacks every day.

 

Had I simply turned aggressive to false, I would be up considerably this month instead of hovering around break-even for the month like I am now thanks to the heavy losees.

the way i calculate the gmtoffset: first turn autogmtoffset on and see which number the EA calculates automatically. the add -1 to that number.

for example:

Autogmtoffset : +3 then manual gmtoffset is (+3)+(-1)=+2

Autogmtoffset : -4 then manual gmtoffset is (-4)+(-1)=-5

 

I suggested this method to some friends with different brokers and all of the are successful using mdp.

 

I used this gmtoffset calculation since August 18th and i just had one SL using all 10 pairs frequently.

So, you find out your broker's GMT offset and then substract 1 (minus 1) from your broker's server time?

gbpchf: 4

eur/chf : 2

gbp/usd: 4

usd/chf:4

eur/usd:1

 

I used these pairs plus the pairs i mentioned before from mid august till few days ago that I decided to trade just the other 4 pairs. aggressive has been always true and will be true for me.

Yes but it scares me sometimes. Yesterday had 2 GU, 2 UCAD and 2 UCHF open at once but they all closed at a nice profit

So finally, in GMT, what are the trading hours for S1 and S2 ? 18 20 and 18 19 ?

 

GMT for Alpari Backtests are +1. So i must use S1 19 21 and S2 19 20 it's right ?

I was thinking this EXACT same thing. Most of the profitable trades happen one hour before the end of the trading period, but if a trade is opened in the last hour of S1 or S2..... we risk it going backwards.

 

Perhaps what we are seeing are market conditions where the ranging has become shorter by one hour. I will most likely use the override to ensure that trading finishes one hour earlier. I am sick of watching trades float off and having panic attacks.

 

Once again the pound has gone berserk inside trading hours and taken the eurgbp with it.... &%*@%**&@# X-( X-( X-(

I will be scaling back the S1 trading hours. I can't take this anymore!

I am not sure what you mean by 2 trading hours or 3. Can you explain more. Basically all you need to do to attach Mdpro on chart and then deduct 1 from what MD tells you about offset. You dont have to mess with S1 and S2. Leave them as default.
