wvic
Re: Megadroid Pro I got slaughtered today. Using the 19-23 strategy of shazerz's. Been trading live for 2 weeks now. One thing I have observered is that if I shutdown all trades at 23gmt I would be a lot better off. Has anybody else noticed this or is it just whats been happening the last week or so? What I find is that once the trades go on past 23gmt they don't close for much profit and the chance of a trade going to sl increases a lot. I got hit today mainly on the nzd/usd , eur/usd, usd/chf and manually closed gbp/usd, aud/usd for a loss. Last week nearly everyday I observed good equity increases to 23gmt. Then it kinda wavered for hours after that to eventually close up for the day. However If I had've just closed the trades at 23gmt I would've contained some sl's. Anybody elseobserve this? thanks

Anybody elseobserve this? thanks No that sounds about right actually. Spreads from your broker play a big part in it too. Megadroid seems to take spread into account when it decides to make a trade or not... so brokers with lower spreads get more trades in general. I'm looking forward to MDP getting updated with the Megadroid additions. I like the fact that the bot seems to be more accurate, because double stoplosses suck (especially in recovery mode). I haven't really had much of a stab at optimizing the logics for each pair under MDP XE, but once MDP gets an update, then it will be full steam ahead for testing. xxl205
Re: Megadroid Pro Hi /all, I've set back my trading times to 19-22h GMT (Alpari UK 21-24h), because I also noticed the market being very flat at the moment. What else comes in addition, is that we have a 3 days (!!!) bank holiday in Japan ! Thus the asian session is even more less frequented as it already is ... and because we need a little movement at all to get scalping going, I'm very curious if the next 2 sessions are going to be the same. Had no open trades after 2:30h GMT+2 german time. Also consider the end of the month ! I won't be trading on Thursday this week. Also last night was a monday ... and Garfield hates Mondays, as scalpers like me do, too ;) I personally got off with +8% this night ... whoever is interested, check my setup here some pages ago. Only thing changed is times from 19-22h as said before. Still very good results with MDP XE 1.2, Genius v101 and Forex Shocker v1.1... no FAP Turbo anymore. Cheers! meridian
Re: Megadroid Pro Hi All, I took a hammering on my live account too. It was the first time I had Aggressive=True, what a mistake that was. Not only did aggressive open 7 trades across the charts, my VPS ghosted and doubled every trade. And to add to that every trade LOST heavily. DOUBLE S/L'S it doesn't come any worse than that. It has wiped out my last two weeks of progress. I have always stayed away from Aggressive setting before, as I think it tries for too many pips in these quieter sessions. I was just swayed by results seen on the forum, and thought I was being overcautious in not using Aggressive. Learned my lesson. X_X For some reason I could not get my new (official) MD 1.20 running last night, and it may have been just as well. I have read on another forum that folks where hit by S/L's on that also. So hold back on tampering with all our EA's for a moment, until we check this thing out. And yes, I think you may be right, the Japan holiday may have had more of an impact than we thought. Along with DONT TRADE AGGRESSIVE !!!!!

meridian
Re: Megadroid Pro 2 winners (USDJPY) and 1 break even (USDCHF) here. Haha, the JPY pairs were the ones I turned off because of the holiday !! If I had have stayed with S1 trades only last night, I would have been in profit. Also, I checked the trade times: my settings are S1 19 - 23 and S2 20 - 23 GMT I had a SL hit on S2 GBPUSD trade at 20.41 GMT The other bad trades all hitting SL where opened by S2 between 22.36 and 22.47 GMT So, it makes you wonder whether to trim the trade times down to 19 - 22? (and for me, to dump S2 altogther!) Any comments on this? M

But who knows live trading is different story. I have agressive turned on but I'm trading only 0.1 lot size and close still opened trades maually before London session. I can't say I've been very successfull on live account (two weeks of live trading) so far but at least I'm not under water :?:
meridian
Re: Megadroid Pro Uniken, yes, I agree, it is always a different story when you trade live. I have had MDPro 1.01ee running Live for 2 weeks now. 0.10 lots, just like you. Aggressive False, Recovery False, and my account had grown by 22%. I then turned on Aggressive last night, and it wiped all the gains. I must say, it would have only been a 10% loss if my VPS had not doubled all the S2 trades taken, but never the less, I'm going back to my original settings, and think I will trim the hour to 22 GMT I wish backtesting could be more reliable - I tend to forward test on a live account with small risk, to see the real picture from an EA. I've been forward testing MD and MDPro for 3 months now and they doubled my account but trading on live account is not the same. Difference in spreads and requotes give you different results (less trades on live account). I still hope MDPro can generate long term profits but we must use smart money manegement in case of big draw downs. Loosing is part of the game. We can't win them all. meridian
Re: Megadroid Pro I know it's not really a question for this thread as it's not a MDPro request, but, does anyone have the original MegaDroid 1.11 (educated version) that I can use with ADT please? I have the purchased original v1.11, but it is prevented from trading on their server now. They insist we use v1.20 I would like to run both (with ADT settings) to compare results. In regard to mdpro, I had a stop loss hit on usdjpy last night but all the other pairs made up for it, up for last night overall, going to lower the risk down while running recovery and aggresive. Up £40 on £200 account after 6 days trading. :)
