Testing 3 demo accounts (NordMarkets, UWC, JadeFX), same settings. bbr v0.7. Pair-Logic: EURGBP-3, USDCHF-4, GBPUSD-4, EURUSD-3, USDCAD-2, GBPCHF-4. RiskLevel: 0.1. S1_starthour is 20. *NordMarkets mini don't trade GBPCHF pair.

as megadroid pro doesn't have news filter, when i do my trading for the night before i look the website http://www.forexfactory.com, and i stop my time trading with jpy 1 hour before big news ! for i do that i don't have problem !

Todays trades on TDFX demo +115pips, but more importantly something strange happened on my live account. While demo was trading Ok (see bellow) I got this massage on ea info panel on live chart "trying to connect to broker..." and EA didn't make a single trade. When I restarted MT4 it imediately opened trade (at 1.30am???) and it was a looser (close it manualy at -7pips, but it would hit 60pip SL if I let it run). Do you think broker is playing trix on me?

 

 

It´s not really a trick, but they put their server reboot intentionally at around 1:15am each night (look for "logins" in your logs), full well knowing that many times MetaTrader client´s terminals freeze on reconnect (depending on memory and/ or VPS load). You´re still lucky it didn´t freeze with open trades, as has happened before causing HUGE losses. So be warned with them.

Other brokers play this reconnect thing too, though, viciously after weeks of no reconnects, suddenly 3-4 times during the night. Upon complaining you only get excuses and/ or denials.

On MetaQuotes´own forum there have been complaints about this freezing for ages, guess why they have never addressed this. Brokers are impatiently waiting for the release of MQL5 to put this EA profiteering to rest for some time. Hopefully our programmers here will be quick to adapt MD so we can come back to haunt them;)

MT4 will be around for a long time yet Peri, Marketmakers would much prefer to play games with EA's and steal from you rather than not have your custom at all, which is essentially what would happen if they just had MT5.

 

I have heard that MT5 will be the worst platform yet for EA users, and the best for brokers, I have heard from one source that the broker will be able to view EA details with MT5.

 

Will MT5 last?? who knows, if I was the speculating guy =)) =)) =)) =)) I'd say probably not.

I really wish you were right. My impression from talking to brokers was that after an overlap period they´ll all switch. Maybe not CollectiveFX and some other exceptions. There won´t be a way around recoding for mql5, probably...

It is possible. Boston Technologies makes a database with EAs "fingerprint" to identify what we using. I easily believe they will implement some EA identify function in MT5.

There are an API for MT4 to avoid these fraud: TZMT4 (TradeZone MT4 API). It is easily can be patched out to be free. If you have a good profitable EA, you should use it.

Sounds like speculation, until it has been released we have no reason to believe anything people say. I think brokers would have to put in their agree that they will be viewing your ea's and if the do that than you have a choice whether or not to sign up with them.

I know about this disconnection at 1:10am (1:15) but my problem occured before 10:00pm (my terminal didn't freeze I had connection only ea couldn't collect data :-? )and no error or disconnection was stated in my logs, that's what it bugs me. I was making constant profits only 1 week on live account (and only around 100pips total) so I think my EA shouldn't atract brokers attention.

 

Do you think (know) our EAs won't be compatible with MT5?

Did you used the default trading time setting? I think you did not. Jadefx is GMT+1, but you got trade at 9:07pm. That means you started trading at GMT8:00pm. Am I right?

On the official MT5 page it has been stated that NO EA (none!) will be compatible with MT5 because they had to change programming language. So all EAs have to be recoded in mql5.
