IMHO don't use Alpari UK for night scalping EAs... it kills your EAs with its WILD (not only WIDE) spreads!!!

yeah me too. It was working fine up until about a week ago and hasn't traded since (live with Alpari UK). I'm beginning to wonder if I have changed some settings by mistake but I've checked everything and can't spot anything.

 

Tonight I've changed from v1_00ee2x to the latest _XE version but still nothing.

 

Maybe it's these new sucky floating spreads that Alpari have introduced :(

stability of Internet connection also affect. maybe that is the reason you got different trades than unikin.

I use ForexVPS, and the connection was stable on both brokers... I checked that too.

I would strongly suggest using bbr_v11 and not XE for live trading.

XE was basically an experiment designed to see if we could experiment and tinker with the logic.

 

I'm getting different results from the same data with the same spreads (disconnected from demo account) between bbrv11 and XE1.2... and bbr is more profitable. I have no idea why it is acting like that, but the trades are visably different.

 

If someone would like to test this and confirm it......

I also follow bbrain's data on JadeFX (demo and live), and I can tell that JadeFX (demo and live) have similar trade times/spreads/pips in last few days. Difference in traded pips is no more than 0.5-0.7 per trade, sometimes trades are same. Difference in our setups is only that he don't use Recovery and Agressive modes and that's why he have few trades less than me (bbrain, correct me if I'm wrong please).

 

NordMarkets and UWC also have similar data, but because of little wider spreads, profits are currently smaller. Reza is trading live on NordMarkets, he can provide us data to compare that one :).

You are right, I run my live / live copy with Agressive = false, Recovery = false

I want to demo it for 2 weeks, and if it is too light, I will switch these settings on. :P

Bbrain, I would implement that news filter in the .dll version, too, if you don't mind.

 

I am now using MDpro bbr v11 with 5 pairs for a week, on Alpari UK, live. Every day from 1st September was a profitable trading day, no losing trades so far.

But since I'm using it on Alpari UK classic live account, I'm really taking those wild rides regarding spreads. For example there was 14-17 (140-170) pips on USDCAD on Wednesday evening for loooong minutes or even a quarter hour.

I'm using MD's factory spread limits. What do you think, should I try to set higher spread limits? Or even try to disable spread limit watching? Or will my tiny profits turn to tiny-to-huge losses for sure?

(I know I should leave Alpari as a first step. :) )

Yes, I think so. That's why I'd like to get answer to my MaxSpread question. Should I tamper with it or even disable it or not? Did anybody tried to change it on live account?

I've been using MegadroidPro_v101_bbr_v11 for two weeks on Alpari UK Classic Live Account with the following settings:

 

Aggressive = TRUE (and FALSE for EURGBP and USDJPY),

GmtOffset = 2,

AutoLocalGmtOffset = True,

AutoServerGmtOffset = True,

LotSize = 0.1,

RiskLevel = 0.2,

RecoveryMode = TRUE,

RishSharingEnable = FALSE,

MaxSpread = -1 (Auto)

 

Logic and pairs:

GBPCHF - 4

EURCHF - 2

EURGBP - 3

USDJPY - 4

 

From the Backtest these pairs have the lowest drawdowns (GBPCHF = 16.45% (Aggressive=TRUE), EURCHF = 14.98% (Aggressive=TRUE), EURGBP = 8.56% (Aggressive=FALSE), USDJPY = 19.61% (Aggressive=FALSE)), other pairs have higher than 25%.

 

About 1.5 week ago I was using USDJPY (drawdown = 25.99% with Aggressive=TRUE) and hit the stoploss 2 times leaving me 10% of my account in the red.

I guess it was bad luck to start, so turned Aggressive=FALSE, and still think (from backtests and forward testing and bbrain results) that this is one the best pais to invest (number 3 from Bbrain results).

 

But having very few trades recently, and this is from what I think is due to Alpari UK spreads (even with MaxSpread = -1 (Auto)), but the few trades were all profits.

 

Lets see how things go next week.

Guys, I stopped trading with Megadroid since July when it proved it lossed it's way to move my account to north.

 

I think Megadroid worked perfectly for few months in first half of the year, but now its time have just gone into eternity.

Ya , i think it's not as profitable as 3 month ago, but I have not removed it yet and just turn AGGRESSIVE = FALSE, it's better now and still makes good profit (also in some pairs change the GMT offset manually)
