Re: Megadroid Pro

Yep... that USDCHF trade finally closed at a profit... a very tiny one, but a profit none-the-less.

Not having looked at the code, I think Megadroid can seem to tell when a trade has taken too long to profit and tries to close itself out ASAP before it swings away from the break-even line.

By the way, what trade logic are you using for the USDCAD?

Re: Megadroid Pro

Testman ->

Hello

I use Don's MegaDroidPro_v1_00ee2xFix version. I'm testing it on TadawulFX (it's still demo account).

Rio ->

I use logic 2 (Eur/Chf) for USDCAD as it gave best results in back testing . Logic 4 isn't bad either for this pair.

Re: Megadroid Pro

Trades that go into overlap of Asian and London session are too dangerous in my opinion. SL can get hit in no time. So I'm thinking of closing this trades manually before London opening. I can live with minus 20-30pips now and then but minus 60-120p is much harder to swollow.

Re: Megadroid Pro

unikin -> thank you, can you upload your MegaDroidPro_v1_00ee2xFix version ? I can't find this :/

hxxp://www.filefactory*com/file/ahd9fh3/n/MegaDroidPro_v1_00ee2x_rar

And please read the instructions Don has provided inside rar file before using EA (you can find share link also on page 30).

Re: solution to the crashing

I think another possible cause of the crashing is that the DLL file was not patched properly, and part of it became corrupted.

I'm starting to think that this may actually be the real cause, because when examining the code and the DLL I can't see any other more likely cause.

How exactly was it patched?

Hyperdimension, here's my post about the dll's: http://www.indo-investasi.com/viewtopic.php?p=36260#p36260

If you or someone else has a completely original, unpatched, paid and working version with a valid receipt code, then s/he could use my .mq4 for testing on pairs with the same logic.

If s/he's getting the crashes, then the original .dll has the bugs "by factory". If not, then both mine AND the r@pidsh@re one has problems after patching. (I have tried every .dll and .mx4 combinations and got crashes).

No crashes whatsoever when using manual lot size (risk level = 0).

Re: Megadroid Pro

I've tried some backtests of MegaDroid Pro over FXDD data from their web site: http://www.fxdd.com/en/mt1m-data.html

I'm getting poor results with it, which I find worrying.

Have any of you guys tried this FXDD data, and if so, what results do you get?

The MegaDroid user manual states that the results that they show on their web site are from backtests over historical data from FXDD:

Matching results shown on the website

We used the FXDD version of MetaTrader for backtesting with the following settings:

All default except Risk Level (generally 0.3) and GmtOffset (+3)

Have any of you ran backtests on data that you got somewhere other than from the MetaTrader History Center?

Re: Megadroid Pro

FXDD is just rotten for any live scalping EA, save the ones that trade on the EURUSD... and even then there are better brokers!

Their demo spreads are lower than their live spreads, which are way too high for scalping.

It's very deceptive if you use their demo and then decide to go live with them. You're in for a rude shock.

Yes, I'm aware that their spreads are bad, I already checked them for a short while months ago and then never looked at them again. I'm looking at FXDD because the MegaDroid manual states that they used FXDD data to produce their backtests, and also because they provide data on their web site that I think is different from the data that you can easily get from the History Center downloads.

As I told you recently, spreads are not relevant to historical data. It's your MetaTrader terminal that stores the spread. Right now I'm using an Alpari terminal that I took offline (to keep the spreads constant), and have been checking data from different sources by importing the external data into my offline terminal. Right now I have an offline Alpari terminal that is using imported FXDD data from the FXDD web site.

I'm not sure whether the user manual is referring to FXDD data that they downloaded via the FXDD MetaTrader terminal History Center or the data that is available on the FXDD web site. I'm also not sure if it's the same data. I'm going to check.

Re: Megadroid Pro

@ DON

can you add an input for the working hours to your version?

thank you :)

only real thing you can do is adjust GMT manual offset until it trades during the time you want..

I doubt there will be much more time spent on this version of the EA/DLL.. It locks up and crashes when you least expect it.. You should back up a few pages and read the thread..

Re: Megadroid Pro

Dear friends,

Please what about we all make our efforts to customize and, of course, optimize, the pairs and their respective logics sending our backtests and results in one new topic.

I think this can concentrate a very important issue in one single place.

What about this suggestion?

Kind regards.

I had no crash since i disable:

AutolocalGMTOffset

and

AutoServerGMTOffset

and set GMT manualy

I have had those disabled since the EA was first introduced in this thread.. THis is the MdPro thread..

Do you have agressive turned on.. Have you had any S2 orders placed.. Check the magicnumber S1 and S2 have different magic.. Every time I crashed it was a S2 order being placed..
