ruddy Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure Points and figures are as old as the hills, and if you ask me, I think it doesn;t work. Why go backwards? Quote
pvs Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure It works really good, as its not time based just depends on price volatility Quote
TheBeast Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure I would suggest just using Range bar charts in f.i. NinjaTrader. At least that way you can still use all your favourite indicators with the benefit of having spikes filtered out. Quote
eqqismar Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure A big disadvantage of P&F charts is that they can’t be used with indicators, they don’t have a time scale and they don’t record gaps, plus the volume is not taken into consideration. Useful just for “old timers” :) Quote

JUINERTY2 Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure P&F is not the holy grail, but can help to see some figures that you cannot see with standarts charts, because time not count Quote
100pips Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure you can also try renko charts, they are not exactly same as P&F but similar in pattern recognition. These types of charts are independent of time, a new candle is only formed when it moves a certain number of pips in a direction. Quote
mubi99 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Re: Help with Point & Figure Can you please explain what Renko Charts are and how to trade with them. Are there any books? Quote
vagalume Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Re: Help with Point & Figure i think it's very clear to see the trends, since it's totally objective in trend lines (=45%). But you should finetune your entries, i e. waiting for retracements. Quote
