Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

To all,

Please excuse my interjection into your thread; however I was recently sent a link to your discussion as it appears that we, TheCollectiveFX.com, were part of that discussion.

Having had a browse through a few of the pages of posts I thought I may add a few things to consider in your trading. Please don't consider this by any means lecturing or in any way condescending as that is truly not the purpose. I would simply like to add some aspects that I’ve learned the hard way over the years and that are vital to successful trading:

1. Live trading and demo trading are completely different no matter who the broker; no matter how honest the broker; no matter how fast the demo platform is; no matter how the demo platform matches the live platforms prices. The bottom line is that demo platforms are inherently different from their live equivalents. The FILL is the only thing that matters. Demo platforms do NOT take into account market liquidity and it is liquidity that equates to FILLS. Acknowledging the difference is crucial.

There are certainly significant differences between the demo platforms' and live platforms' performances from many brokers that have nothing to do with the FILL. The biggest significant killer for many new traders though is not the games that some brokers play with their platforms it is the naivety of the trader believing that their live trades should be the same as the demo that is the problem.

Our own demo and live platforms display exactly the same prices in each yet the demo platform will probably outperform the live platform in real life simply due to the FILL. If you find an honest broker, the broker who is the best in the world, the same will be true. You cannot blame the broker, it is you the trader that need to recognize this fact. Try placing a 100 full lot trade in demo and live at the same time and then tell me differently.

2. You cannot compare prices from one broker and benchmark another brokers prices against the first. I saw a post stating that our prices were different to some other brokers and the poster didn't know why. Without wishing to pick on that poster unnecessarily the post was rather naive. In over the counter FOREX there is no single market where prices are set. There are many many many individual market makers all setting their own prices. Whilst in the retail market space 'market making' or 'dealing desks' are seen as abhorrent, (certainly that’s how I see them), then that is absolutely not true in the 'real' market. Market Makers make the world go round. Without them there is no forex commerce. If you acknowledge that then you should see that it is highly unlikely that any two brokers quote the same price at the same time. That’s just not how the markets work.

If you are looking to find a broker that replicates the pricing of another broker whilst eliminating its worst traits then I think your search may be a long one.

3. You absolutely cannot use one day, week or even a month as a sample size to make any statistical deductions. Whilst I am not a qualified statistician I can testify that all of my own trading is 100% statistical. The smaller the sample size that you use in your evaluation the less robust the results are. Please read up on statistics and their use in trading. A little time and knowledge now may save you many dollars later. Garbage in, garbage out could not be more true.

I saw a couple of posts with statements such as 'It didn't work for me last week'. That does not fit with any sensible analysis. Again that isn't trying to make the poster look small as I'm sure that the statement was made with the best possible intentions.

4. I have no knowledge of the ‘ISEA’ that you are discussing and nor do I care to learn, however, the important factor is that 'shared' or 'common' EA's are unfortunately subject to clumping together when it comes to trading. Whilst your own individual EA instance may not be trading large volume, collectively you all are taking the same signals at the same time and thus your cumulative volume hitting the market at the same time significantly hinders your individual ability to get filled. The idea of a shared or 'linux' methodology of developing EA's is great. The actual real world trading of that EA is mined with problems. There is only so much liquidity at any time and thus, whether you recognize it or not, you will all be fighting for fills at the same time. If you don't believe me then check out the FAP problems caused by the same issue. Or indeed check out what happens at 5PM EST when rollover occurs. The prices and spreads behave erratically due to the masses all trying to cash in or cash out of the swap rates. This is collective behavior that absolutely changes the dynamic of the market at that time.

5. Trading is a tough business. Trading FOREX is even harder. The market is not fair. The brokers are not fair. There is nothing fair. Do not fool yourself that this is not true. If you acknowledge this and know that you are ALWAYS starting with a deck stacked against you then you at least stand a chance of surviving. Naivety gets eaten alive in the FOREX world.

6. The holy grail does NOT exist. Or at least not as you may believe. There is no magic EA that is going to make you your fortune. There is no EA that will perform day in day out. There is no EA that will perform exactly the same live as it did in your back testing. Depending on whom you quote and where you read the common thinking is that 90-95% of traders fail and lose their accounts. Ignoring this statistic will not make it go away.

The real holy grail is actually a holy trinity: Discipline, Money Management and Probability. If you achieve these then you have a chance of surviving.

7. Trying to change the market or finding a broker to 'fit' your EA is a noble yet futile effort. Please let me assure you that I personally have hundreds, if not many thousands, of very very good automated strategies that perform great in many differing market conditions over very large sample sizes if only the spread wasn't quite so volatile or wide. Remember, I have these and I control my own brokerage, I can effectively do anything and everything possible to give myself the best conditions possible to allow these strategies to prosper, yet they are still confined to my library to collect dust.

Try and work with what you've got. Change your EA to accommodate what is achievable here and now. If in time you achieve better conditions then your EA will benefit. If your EA has no merit in the current live environment then have the courage to acknowledge that and move on. Find something else that has better prospects.

Again, please don't take any of this as a lecture. I have seen too many traders in too many different environments suffer. If this doesn’t fit with your thinking then ignore it.

One final note. I am one of the founders of TheCollectiveFX.com and am under no circumstances using this as an advert or an incentive for you to come and trade with us. In fact, I would rather you didn't. The last thing that we want is a large group of traders hitting the same signal at the same time and then complaining about fills etc. This doesn't fit with our model and we certainly are not in the game to disappoint our members.

I don't want to get embroiled in forum politics or any sort of debate etc, so please note that I'll now leave your thread and sign off. I wish you all luck with your endeavor which certainly is meritorious and I sincerely hope that you find or indeed create exactly what you need.

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

Well here are result's from running ISEA on thecollective

http://robertdb.mt4stats.com

Pretty good really, but no where near as good as Sigma

Can't complain at over 400 pips in 24hr's, please disreagrd the cancelled trade's that was me messign around with setting's.

They tell me the demo feed is exactly the same as the live feed, i will check them out more thoroughly, they have a strange way of charging yuo to keep the spread's low, you have to pay per trade ..... but not on commision.

but there is subscription fee , and it's cost about 0.43-0.65$/0.1 lot , equal to 1 pip commison. but the ea can not gain this ammonts. And who is this guy's scam or not, any one did not know

bad ea, if its very good why the seller owrk the selling his/their ea( perform like sigma forex which is scam broker)? they going to holiday.

sorry brothers ,for my bad english

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

to victor21 and mario1986,

thanks for the update.

Well, too bad for dukascopy, I thought it would work even with $10000 to apply jforex and automated strategies.

I thought $100000 were required only with their FixAPI.

And you are right:risk 10% every time you trade is too much (unless it behaves as with sygma/broker)

And for filtered/unfiltered data ? what did they say?

I also need you members:

I can't remember what soft or EA is able to go through your historical trades (on MT4 platform) between dates you precise, and report out different statistical views (sort out with criterias : pairs, profit / loss, percentage etc..)

if you could give a link, I would appreciate.

It would be easier to test different pairs with different parameters and to be able to analyse these results.

regards

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

Forexpro, you open live account with the collective, what about you balance still in positive ? even if the loss when it occurs slow down badly the profits ...

So does it work ? i can imagine that it won't work as sigma, but if you are in positive it's good anyway...

Thanks

Hi Victor,

I didn’t open the live account especially for ISEA – I had it already before.

Looking at the ISEA results it isn’t the big deal. If I would like to be one millionaire with this EA I’m really missing maybe still a whole live more.

I let it run only for a few hours per day. But to answer your question - when I would sum all the trades it made between the last 3 trading-days I´m in positive, yes.

What really sucks are the huge losers.

Someone tried any other S/L value ?

I was testing the EA also on a TadawulFX demo. Only because of curiosity I set the same settings on a TDFX live account, but the EA is neither opening pending orders. Somebody knows way ?? :?

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

Thanks for the info, i have a demo with them and i am in positive too, but the losses suck, i agree ...

Anyway could you tell us the percentage/day the ea make ? and what are your hours ? i'beginnig to think early london-NY and just before Asian... the pairs seems to range between this periods ...

For th sl, i don't know, it's already tigh.. 28 pips its not big, but compared to 2 pip, it's huge, so maybe the time filter is the only way ...

Or just accept the losses ?? because if we stop the ea during long time we'll have less profit and if we have a loss we could have a negative balance ...

Ideas ??

And what about the broker you are with them since ? any issue, withdrawal proble ? requotes ?

Thanks a lot (and sorry to bother but i can't find a review with this broker)

For tdfx, check the spread, it won't work on my platform when spread is too high..

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

Hi Victor,

About the trading-times I’m not sure. I got the losers at different times. I do believe that the worst time is, when a session just opens.

Any comments ? What you guys figured out about that ?

As I don’t want to get burned with this EA on a live account I trade the smallest lot size which is 0.1 standard lot. A percentage I can’t tell you now – I will check this tomorrow – well today in the afternoon (it´s 2:30 a.m. for me now). But I guess it is very low !

To be honest, I’m happy with the broker; Didn’t have big issues until now 2 times the server was down for a couple of minutes and they told me that the issue was with their liquidy-provider). Order-executions are very fast, spread is good (the one you can see on your demo); I started with a small account just for trying them. I can’t tell you how it works with withdrawals, because I’m less than a month with them now.

TDFX: I know the spread is too high (3 pips fixed), but the curious thing is that it is trading on demo – on live it neither places pending orders.

Maybe ask for zen fire in forex ...

I though they had zen fire only for futures, it work with the forex too ?

Yes they do have forex, but from what I heard their data is a little filtered.

Re: [Req] ISEA (Investiva Super Expert Advisor)

It seems like the market doesn't really make a difference. If Zen Fire unfiltered data is as noisy and unfiltered as SigmaForex, then ISEA could pretty much trade anything. Am I right? Or am I missing something?

Plus, with futures, you don't even pay a spread, do you? It's just commission. Which is pretty cool too.
