Dulu pernah baca2 dikit. Uda agak lupa seh.

 

yg stau aku:

- COT itu fasilitas yg musti bayar per bulan baru bisa dapet datanya (jadi males blajar neh :P )

- COT itu menilai berapa banyak trader yg pasang buy dan berapa banyak yg pasang sell.

- Jadi COT itu mirip dengan Open Interest di Reuters.

- Kl banyak yg pasang sell kita ikut aja sell, kl banyak yg buy kita ikut aja yg buy.

 

Kl ga salah inget seh begitu. Krn musti bayar buat dapet datanya, jadi males lanjut belajarnya :P

 

Mungkin ada yg lain yg bisa share.

menurut gue sama, itu jg lag indicator. feed dari CFTC itu per mingguan, acuan buat swinger bole2 aja. Cuman skalanya itu universal, kadang bisa meleset.

 

Pengembangan COT nantinya, riset anda akan menuju ke pencarian live-feed dari broker "who's buying or selling." Yah ini yang susah, n gue aja masih gak dapat. Yang di ECN itu bisa aja bogus (made-in-dewe) atau level 3 atau 4, udah gak akurat. Kalo bisa dapat level 2, wah beruntung banget loe. Apalagi yg level 1, tapi kayaknya susah deh. Mengingat kompleksnya jaringan trading floor Currency Exchange yang emang "blur" sifatnya. Perlu feed seluruh bank2 dunia, baru anda dapat akurasi data. Bayangkan tuh...

to me this is the most important indicator for me (combined with seasonality) when i take a non swing position. The important thing is to realize the numbers are relative and not get overexcited about what seem to be bullish or bearish numbers. This really paid off in coffee for me recently.

COT are useful to see what the big boys are doing week by week, problem is that data is in the past...things can change fast.

COT - everyone talks about it, but I haven't seen anyone using it :P

COT is good for those trading long-term and you want to see if its time to prepare for exit or not based upon the big boys. I do not think you can use it to daytrade since the data is a week old. There are ebooks [i should say copies of books] out there on COT that is posted.
