not sure, have backtested on many diff brokers data. all fine. Sure its worthless information. If you knew the strategy and whats making this ea tick you wouldnt. But you will never know so you cannot know if this is worthless information. May aswell close this thread.

We're not haters here, and have no reason to offend anyone who presents valid and interesting information. But most of us have seen just too many EA's with backtests that looks great, backtests presented with all valid information. So when anyone present an unnamed EA with backtests where much of the important information is missing, then many of us will also react. But not reacting with hate, more with irritation I guess.

The usual sales hype, and it's basically the same - use MetaTrader to trade, but instead of fx trade gold, silver and oil, something that man brokers offer.

So, What would you do? I may setup a signal service but being its a long term trading EA there would only be 2-6 signals per year. Would you just hide this and keep it to yourselfs?

only thing with these strategies are the drawdown, to have a small drawdown you have to have a big account to make it worthwhile. If not like the $1000 account you have a big drawdown and take the risk. Drawdowns on these can be from 200-400 points, but it has made quite a few 2000+pip trades.

 

Update:

been doing more work to this, with grid style trading using the same strategy has produces 95,985 pips in the past 4 years with a profit factor of 7!!, maximum (full drawdown) able to take a 20k account to 60million in 4 years

I've read some posts on this forum by experienced traders that seem pessimistic when it comes to translate their strategies into logical code for an EA. I don't understand the reasoning behind this because trading is a 100% logical endeavor. The market can only do three things, go up, go down, or go sideways. Comparing indicators to determine a trade setup isn't difficult. I don't think we need a masters degree in physics to write some simple code. How hard can it be?

There's never a problem to translate trading strategy to an EA. The problem is that most traders who trade manually, and have little or no experience of computer programming, fail to translate their strategy to a logic structure that a programmer can use. In most cases, the strategy is vague and full of empty holes. That's the problem.

There were just 2 limitations, one is works only on eurchf and backtest only one month...

I'm sorry. I noticed that once the original EA.ex4 file was decompiled it created function names that was too long, and this made it impossible to compile it again. I've now gone through the code and renamed all functions, and also compiled it again to make sure that it can be compiled.

It's a mq4-file, so you must compile it into ex4 first. From MetaTrader you can do that by right-clicking on the file and choose Modify, where it will be loaded into the MetaEditor. From there, just click on Compile and the ex4-file will be generated.

EA works only on eurchf, please make it work for all pairs. And backtest works only for dec 2011.. please remove this limitation as well..if any other limitations please remove..

I have not seen the latest version. But the previous version is/was NOT a copy of cablerun. It's an EA that comes in three versions, one is for GBPUSD and two are for EURGBP. The differences are the settings, so instead of using one single EA with three different set-files, it comes as three different versions. It's similar to Cablerun as it uses grid-strategy, and it has the same pros and cons - it works very well as long as the market is not trending.

If it's in mq4-format it must be compiled into ex4 first. Right-click on it at MetaTrader "Custom Indicators" and choose "Modify", then click on "Compile". Then try and attach it again.

My point was - don't waste time on so called arbitrage EA's when there are working strategies on other EA's.

Contrary to you, I know how broker systems works. And I also for sure know how arbitrage works in theory as well as in practice (as a financial mathematician and computer programmer). And what about the truth?! Direct us to ANYONE who can show a real, live working account that can be verified, that uses an arbitrage EA? The ones that are sold and have been sold by vendors only refer to demo-accounts. Why?! Simply because it only works on demo-accounts.

And when it comes to EA's. I have published one that can be found at another fx forum, which btw is available for free. What have you contributed to?

Just for fun (and to show others how this work) I created a similar EA last spring, which made over 2000% (20 times the money) in a week.

Now the problem. Brokers uses different price feeds, spread and execution speed on demo vs live servers, making this kind of arbitrage possible between some brokers, where the prices differs enough, but never between live servers. So you can regard all such arbitrage EA's as fun toys to play with on demo-account, but worthless on live accounts. The only ones that possibly and theoretically could profit from it, would be brokers themselves trading against other brokers.

i have tried the demo for few days and it is truely profitable if the brokers don't have slippages and offquotes. Now my demo has expired. I made USD850.00 after demoing for 4 days and no drawdown. In my opionion, this will not work out if broker found out that you are using arbitrage software and they will not honor the profit either.

Why not post your idea here? Martingale is a gambling strategy, and there's nothing hidden or unknown about that strategy, contrary. We all know that using Martingale strategy the profit can grow very large very fast, but also that all money sooner or later is lost due to a major drawdown, unless trading with very small lots, having very much money and maximum possible of leverage. So share your ideas here instead, and we will give you feedback.
