I have also reduced my indicators to a minimum. I only use MTF_Gann_Hilo_Activator. It works fine for me. After working with it for some time it becomes quite easy to trade with consistent profit. Happy to see that others are also seeing through and getting out of this indocators' jungle.

I once read somewhere this following quote:

 

"Some people spend their whole life examining the roots while others pick up the fruits."

 

This is what happens to most traders. They spend all their valuable time and energy in search and research of strategies, indicators and EA's. While they forget to do what they are supposed to do, namely to trade.

 

There's no single strategy, or indicator that will work all the time. And regardless of how long one has tested and varified a strategy, today or tomorrow it will fail. The only thing a trader can do is to learn to trade just by doing it - actively with real money. If one remains consistent and shows persistence he will discover what works for him, what he can predict and what he does wrong. But he will fail to acheive this state until he decides to trade and quits his search of the "perfect strategy".

 

No offence to anyone - just my humble opinion.

I am not sure whether it's true, but I think I read it somewhere that the order signature of an EA is different than manual order in metatrader. So it is not possible to hide an EA-order from the broker. Yes, comment is the easiest way to identify an EA-order but when EA-orders are sent to a different server with its own unique ea-identifying-signature, all attempts to hide it will be in vain. It is built-in in metatrader. So we might be powerless to do anything and may just pray for brokers' kindness.

Here is the first verion with the modifications. I have not yet implemented the last option "AND THEN AT END HOUR ..CLOSE ALL ORDERS YES/NO to each of the days". Have a look and give me feedbacks.

 

The expert needs to be cleaned up and it also needs a lot of other modifications if we want it to run on real accounts. I'll do that stuff later.

 

Other users do not download it yet. It is not ready to be tested. I'll inform you when it is ready. Thanks.

Metatrader backtest is not really a trading simulation of that time the backtest is running on. When we do a back test the closing, high or low prices are already known. So it is no surprise to create so many impressive backtest statements.

 

Let me clear it a little bit:

 

Suppose I have an ea that runs on 1H chart and uses daily data. At the beginning of my backtest my ea asks for daily high and low price. The history delivers the high and low of that current day that has not ended yet, but still it receives the values that will be the high and low after the day is over. So it is cheating. A real backtesting system will not allow this. Metatrader has built this deliberately. It was the case with mt3 and at that time it was a issue many times mentioned to the developers, but they denied it to be like that.

 

You can test it. Just write an EA which prints daily high, low and close on chart. Then backtest it. You will see that at the mornig you already know the closing price of the evening.

 

When one knows the future it is no magic to create "Holy Grail EA's".

 

So, be careful. The best option is forward test.

One world currency is not something that may happen one day. It is something that is inevitable. The way EURO was inevitable and the doom of GBP, SFR and other still remaining currencies is inevitable. It is not because world needs one but it is being orchestered for about half a century. We can still trade forex some some years, maybe 20 years at the most but one world electronic currency is the only thing that can be seen as certain.

There have been many prophesies about the futture. Most of them failed, just a few ones can be interpreted as accurate. But still they are rarely accurate, it just seems to be. We can see that with economic forecasts and theories. No sane being will ever consider them because they are just nothing more than fantasies of some intelligent sounding people. The best thing about future is that it is unpredictable otherwise the world would habe been doomed already.

I have made it work on my XP machine. No success on vista.

 

To make it run on XP:

 

1. install MIG MT4 platform

2. Turn on DDE

3. Install analysis software

4. Run software. You may get an error. In this case turn off MT4 and strenght meter. Run mt4 again and wait 5 minutes then start strength meter. Eventually it will start to run.

 

Comment on meter: After watching it for about 6-7 hours I came to the conclusion that one gets almost the same information from !xMeter MODIFIED OPEN SOURCE. No real advantage over what is already available freely.
