I have MD 1.21 attached on EUR/USD with High On and mediumMedium News Turned off and the chart shows not trading avoiding news When I attach The FFCAl indicator It shows only medium news Same problem with USD/CAD
I replied you by private message. But for others and in case i sounded confusing:
If you attach the ffcal to a chart, it only shows ONE previous news and ONE incoming news, WHICHEVER came last or will come next.
If you have ffcal indicator on the chart, with medium on and high on, it will show the last and next, whether it's a medium or high. In your case, you must have seen the last news, which was a medium, about 5-6 hours ago (current time).
To all:
Don't worry about your broker's gmt setting when it comes to avoid news. The ffcal indicator checks the gmt automatically, independently from the EA, and as the news are downloaded in gmt time, it should always tell you correctly the minutes until the next news or passed from the last news.

I've tested the 4_6gmt and breakout pro shared here but they are no way close to the original cable run.

Hey noziggity81 RE Max Spread Settings depends on the broker If Broker is fixed spread then specific value is the way to go. I am using 0 ie the default at IBFX

I guess you're right about banks trading forex until later.
I thought the banks closed earlier, like in Europe, at 3pm local time. Maybe they do, but even here the forex markets seems to close later than the banks themselves.

In any case, the New York session ends at 5pm est, or 9pm GMT. The loss trade of eurusd was opened at 10:58pm, but still, I wondered if the Bank Holiday had something to do with that.
Do you guys trade asian session scalpers on us bank hollidays?

The reason I recommended Aggressive mode was because I did a 10 years backtest with and without it. Obviously, you get more profit with it ON, but that doesn't mean it's more profitable. So I check the drawdown in both cases and that's what made me think it was more profitable, as you get just a little bit more drawdown for a substancial increase of profit.
I'm assuming you have it off, as this night I got a stoploss on megadroid eurusd and you didn't. I did a backtest of one day and I checked it was caused by the aggressive strategy.
Now, you can take that both ways. One, you wouldn't get it on non-aggressive mode, so it's better to have it off, but two, you're missing the takeprofit ones also, so it's hard to tell just by this stoploss. It might happen next time a stoploss by the original strategy getting reduced by some profit trades by the aggressive one. I'll keep it on unless i start having more losses.
Btw, the backtest's curve is smooth wither with it on or off, the stoplosses of those extra trades don't usually coincide with the original ones.
Another thing, and related to that loss of the aggressive strategy, i don't think i was the only one.
Yesterday was a Bank Holliday in USA. Does someone think it might have something to do with that?
The thing is, I don't know how that works, and it would be cool if someone could explain me.
My guess is, if it's a bank holliday, the banks are closed in US, then there is less liquidity, maybe more volatility, and the spread is higher.
BUT, the banks close, I guess, max at 4pm ET/EST, which in GMT is 8PM.
Megadroid, though, trades from 9PM to 11PM GMT, I think, so the banks in US would be closed anyway, making me assume that a bank holliday in US doesn't affect megadroid then, or does it?
Does someone have an opinion on this, cause I'm a bit of a newbie on how the currencies flow.

Don't need. You can do it. Just put logic=0, use the parameters for the pair you're using. If you don't know, check the graph that came in the zip file.
Then, on Hour_Start_Time put 0 and Hour_End_Time put 24, it will trade 24hours.
Give it a try and post if your friend was right if you test it.

That looks like a scam to me, no offence.
Almost any EA survives a 4 year backtest with 50.000$ trading 0.01 lots. With that risk, many are profitable, as long as they are martingale.
The problem with that is, in theory, if you deposit 2000$, after 4 years, in theory, your account would grow 40% (less than 10% per year). That won't even pay my car's insurance. But it's still nice compared with most funds.
That EA looks like a martingale of 1.5 factor. At a closer look I saw it opening trades of 1.4lots, and i only saw some trades. It seems to open a backup trade every 10-11 pips, so if the market goes wild against it, it blows those 50k in no time.

Thanks dinj I am no programmer but if you download Multivers from the link posted above The news indicator is NCal instead of FCal Ncal Indicator has high, medium,low impact news as FCAl but also has Speeches included. Late evening US Time speeches by Fed Reserve board Chairmain drastically affects the US currency market. Scalpers like megadroid which trade early Asian hrs are affected The Megadroid version can be modified with this new indicator. It would be worth your time to download the the EA and see the indicator for yourself

You shouldn't trust me with that. I haven't read that many lines of code as i wish. Not many months ago and i didn't know any line of code.
It's hard to recomend you 5. Money management and choosing the best pairs is half your strategy. Every robot can and will have winning trades, so all you have to do is reduce and/or avoid the losses.
Having said that I like megadroid and robominer a lot. Shocker and caliberfx have been alright until now. Then kain, primeval, multivers and evolution for me are 50-50s. I'm sure there are others good, but i can't test all of them.

basically, right before that else, it askes if the logic=0. If it is, then it uses whatever value is set on TakeProfit.
Then on the else it kind of says: if the logic is not 0, then use the default value of 4. If you put 10, then the takeprofit is 0 everytime the logic is not 0.
Likewise, if you put =TakeProfit, then in both cases it would use the value on TakeProfit.
So yeah, that's the place where you hardcode the value you want for take profit.

P.S. You bring up a question that I have now... perhaps dinj can clarify... how does the forced setting (e.g, 11, 22, etc.) work? I have been using the regular setting only, even for non-standard pairs. What does the forced setting do differently, or how is it supposed to be used?
You actually made me curious also. I just took a look at it.
It's not quite like Shocker. On Shocker you choose the logic and you're done.
On the original megadroid pro, as i just saw, you also choose the logic, but...
It only used that logic if you put it on a pair that is not one of the originals. In other words: On the original, if you choose Logic=2 on EURUSD, it uses logic=1 anyway. It only uses logic=2 if it's not one of the original 4 pairs.
On the ee version you can now use a different logic (2,3 or 4)(meaning 22, 33, 44) on EURUSD, as well as in any pair.

You're right about that. Even avoiding news, there have to be almost perfect conditions to be profitable, like a nice broker with nice spreads, few requotings and only on the best pairs. Btw, which pair did you get a stop loss this week on? I'm only running eurusd, gbpusd and usdchf and didn't get on those.
About changing tp and sl to be in an universal way, making it simple, just open the mq4 file, find this:
else gd_320 = 4.0;
and change it to
else gd_320 = TakeProfit;
that should do it fo the takeprofit to be universal.
As for the stoploss, i don't recommend as each pair has a very different stoploss, but if you want, it should be easy as well.

I didn't code ffcal, i don't think i could do it either. It was a bunch of guys at forexfactory who made it and kept inproving it.
You can backtest it if you do what it says on post #79
The problem is, the mod retreives the news info from ffcal, which it its case downloads them every 6 hours to a xml file. As I don't know where you can download the file with old news so you could backtest them, it's hard to backtest it for past periods.
To use it with droid tactics, just use it like normal, what matters is how much it misses until and that has passed the next or previous news.

If, for example, my broker runs at GMT+3 and EST(i'm supposing the american est, not the australian) is GMT-4, should I put -1 on the GMT offset?

Thanks dinj for the reply, but still no luck. yes i deleted the old ffcalc ex file and installed your, but still getting the same error with this further message in the journal:

It's really hard to tell what that is, as i'm not very familiar with that.
From what i read, FileWriteString writes some text on a file. That text, in this case, is the text that it was downloaded from the internet: the news. The file is a file that it writes on your mt4 folder\experts\files, the news files, i think it's a xml file. When it says empty string it's probably because it didn't get anything from the internet, which is weird.
The way it gets stuff from internet is the same way all the robots who have autoGMT do: using the wininit.dll file, a windows file.
Now, something along the way must have gone wrong, a problem on that file, you're running linux, i don't know if it uses internet explorer or what...
Check on your mt4 folder\experts\files and check if there is any file there related with news, like for example, 5-26-2010-USDCHF60-FFCal.xml
If there is, open it and check if it has something, if it has been successful before. It's hard to say. Also, and this might do it, try to run your broker with windows administrator previleges (right-click, Run as Administrator)

I have backtested MPPro1.01 ee and MD 1.21_bbr121-1 on many pairs
MD1.21 uses M1 & M15 whilst MDPro M5 & M15
I find MD1.21 gives better results
Try for yourself Both versions have News filter on the forum but both are coded so as to not back test with the news filter
Can someone recode these Ea to back test with the filter then We know which is the better version

I coded them to not backtest with the filter because i thought it would take ages backtesting with in on, but i didn't actually try it.
If you want to backtest with news, all you have to do is this:
Open the EA on MetaEditor. (it should be just double clicking on the .mq4 file), i think, or else right click on it and click modify, on the broker.
Then Ctrl+F or Edit/Find to look for the following line:
if(AvoidNews && !IsTesting())
Basically this is saying that the news avoidance only work if you have AvoidNews as true and if you're not backtesting. All you have to do is delete that last part, becoming:
if(AvoidNews)
Then press F5 or File/Compile.
Restart your metatrader and voila.
I guess to test with the news, you have to have them. I'm not sure where you download old news from weeks/months back.

Thanks for the answer dinj but I don't see in settings those parameters? Only GMT offset is there. Tell me which robot can trade successfully in ranging market? It is a million dollar answer. If we attach an ADX to the chart we can manipulate the entries manually like check the box ask before trade. AI made me some income. It easily make 350 pips in trending market. The problem is you have to close it manually because it never close trade when optimal time for it. It breaks even and mostly ends with 0.0 profit it not closed manually!
Do you have a different version of AI robot?

That's weird. I just downloaded it from the link i posted and tested it. It the END, after the news filter, there are 3 variables: AllowTimedCloseAll, GMT_offset and HourToCloseAll. Are you not seeing those on yours? Check that it's the same you downloaded, and change its name to something you can distinguish. If they don't appear, then it's pretty odd.
About ranging EA's, I wish i knew them. Scalpers in a way are ranging eas, some martingale also, even though they blow accounts. It's hard to say.

I just took a quick peek. At least the latest version shared (1.42), just open it (the .mq4 file), look for this line:
"bool li_16 = FALSE;"
Just change false to TRUE, press F5, quit and should be educated.
This EA seems interesting at a quick look. Does someone have any more information about it?

It's only the mq4, use the same dll and ffcal.
Right in the end, the last field of this new version is Order_Comment.
Put whatever you want as order comment and it should appear later on the historical trades.
I say should, because I can't test it on backtest, backtest doesn't show order comments.
Another thing: if, on the order_comment, you write somewhere a colon, like "MegadroidPro: ", it will add the pair in the end, becoming, for exemple "Megadroid Pro: EURUSD"
I don't know if this is usefull or not, I was just experimenting.

Besides the usual news, in the end you have the thing you asked. There are three variables in that (Programmed Close All):
AllowTimedCloseAll: Here you choose if you want to enable that option or not.
GMT_offset: I put this because of the close hour time you want it to close all trades with the added gmt offset.
HourToCloseAll: and this is to choose what GMT hour you want it to close all trades.
It should work even though i didn't test it.
I hope you get nice results with it. I don't like ai forex though, when eurusd is in sideways market, it gets a lot of losses, and i'm not forex-smart enough to detect when that happens.

I'm not sure, but I checked the code about that message and it happens when the indicator checks if, and I quote:
"The function returns the status of the main connection between client terminal and server that performs data pumping. It returns TRUE if connection to the server was successfully established, otherwise, it returns FALSE. "
I suppose that the problem is either on your internet connection or on the Tadawul server.
If it's not your internet connection, then if you have a chance, have a chat with tadawul about that. They are probably gonna give you another server for you to put on the login window. You can check before if there is another server on the login windows that you can try.
When addressing the problem to them, you can either say that you don't get connection from the server or that your EA, when checking the function "IsTrading()" function, is getting a response of FALSE.
