We need a NEW separate MQL5 forum topic

I think it is good idea to have an MQL5 indicators and an MQL5 EAs separate area to exchange and share ideas files etc

Eventually ALL of the EAs and indicators we have here we will be forced to recompile for the new MQL5 language.....

Thats exactly what this means, we are going to have to start all over again But its going to take some years before brokers finally switch to mt 5 no one is going to do it right away its gonna cost them to much business

    Hi,

    Good day,

I guess yes, you are right that we need new section for MQL5 indicators and EAs since there will be some differences between both versions and also because they are not compatible, which is the biggest problem. This is a hold-back for us now and I believe we need to re-code all our mql4 indicators and EAs.

This article explains what changes would take place:

    Code:
    http://metatrader5.blogspot.com/2009/11/moving-from-mql4-to-mql5.html
    Code:
     [url]http://www.100forexbrokers.com/mt5-metatrader5[/url]
However, I don't think that it would be hard to convert from one version to another.

    Best wishes,
a New Year 2011 has come, and the challenge has just started

I strongly agree with you it would be great to don't make confusion and knowing where to post ask answer etc.. about this matter.
I think MT4 had and has a great popularity, but MT5 is coming and we have to look ahead and start to get acquainted with it, even if some brokers will offer both.
I know that there are some guides about how to rewrite mql4 to mql5 ( like here [url]http://www.metatraderglobal.com/406/rewrite-mql4-to-mql5-script/[/url] ) but always many errors occours and honestly I'm not such a good programmer and I don't know how to solve this issues.
Anyway I hope we can work constructively even on MT5 stuff \m/

    cheers

    I agree.
There will be a lot of work to do to convert indicator-script, expert in mql5. We should use different forum. Fortunaltly the name of indicator will be different to avoid confusion .mq5 / .ex5

    Hi dvd_val,

    Good day,

I can see a great list you have here for a new MQL5 stuff forum.

This is great and I hope people here would share their opinions before we go on.

Re: We need a NEW separate MQL5 forum topic

just wondering gang what about the indicators we have as ex4 and no mq4, we wont be able to transpose these indicators because the ex4 to mq4 converters are not accurate.

I wonder if brokers will give us the option to continue trading with MT4 if we want to.

does anyone know if this will be possible?
