              gotta work hard..

btw, i think we should learn forex in general, choose our preferred weapon, then practice in demo account while learn more about ourself.

              that's my syllabus for now

I just got Rockwell Trading's Home Study Course and it's perfect for beginners! Just google them to find out how to get it. They also provide really great support.

Re: Right syallabus to study forex

                  Hi,

although I am not a guru, I would definitely advise the beginners to try to learn price action. Because, most traders start by looking at different indicators (there are plentiful), from MACD, to RSI, to Bollinger band, etc. etc. Some indicators work for sometime, then it will give you too many false signals, then move to another indicator, etc. Finally reaching conclusion that Price action is the King. But, by that time, one must have lost many of his time and energy.

What i found out that it will be better to just focus on Price action (Steve Nison's videos and PDFs are very good), and Support and resistance (also Sam Seiden is good).

Another mistake ( in my opinion), beginners try to watch all the pairs their broker gives them. that will distract your focus. In the beginning, it is better to look only one or maximum 2 pairs (EUR/USD and GBP/USD would be good for a beginning).

This is just my humble opinion.

                  regards,

Perhaps it helps if you have friends who are already trading Forex and willing to share their experience. That's how I started out when I got interested in trading Forex. Their experience can help you avoid some of the mistakes that newbies like us prone to make in our initial involvement with Forex. This is of course in addition to reading whatever Forex books we can get our hands on.

If I was starting again I'd read a couple of books on price action to get the basics down, then find a real trader and watch him trade live every day for 3-6 months. Trading can be very simple. I'd avoid indicators to begin with. Learn the basic price action sequence and start watching live charts in relation to times of the day. For PA check out Lance Beggs or phil Newton. After a while you'll start to feel the price. As some else mentioned... follow only one pair for a while and really get to know they way it moves. You have to become a specialist. EURUSD would be my recommendation.
