Please let me introduce RW Tick Chart indicator, an indicator which draws tick-based candlestick chart in the indicator window of Metatrader 4.

Main Features:

• real time candle drawing - new candles are drawn in the indicator window as soon as the set number of tick data has been collected. No offline charts used.
   
  
• number of ticks per candle can be set - it is possible to set the number of ticks in a candle for the tick chart. Tick numbers can go from 1 to 2000 or more.

The indicator you linked is a very simple offline tick chart generator tool. It only displays a 1-tick chart (or maybe a 2-tick chart) and it is only capable to do that on an offline chart.

RW Tick Chart has more features:

• RW Tick Chart can draw tick charts in indicator window and also to offline chart
  
• it can display tick charts from 1-tick chart to 2000-tick chart or more (e.g. 30-tick, 70-tick, 133-tick... etc, you can set the number of ticks per candle at the indicator settings panel)
  
• you can change tick charts on the fly (e.g. from 10-tick chart to a 89-tick chart) and the already collected ticks will be converted (and don't get lost like most other free tick chart indicators which start to draw chart from the beginning in such case)
  
• you can add more tick charts to the same main chart window (e.g. a 30-tick chart and a 233-tick chart to have a shorter and longer timeframe as well)
  
• RW Tick chart can apply Bollinger Bands, Heiken-Ashi and one or two Moving Averages to the tick chart in the indicator window
  
• if using offline tick charts you can add other indicators and EAs as well
  
• when restarting MT4 it reloads (if enabled) tick data from last session (you can also define (in hours) how old tick data it should load)

Of course it all depends what you need. If you need a very simple 1-tick chart indicator, you may choose from many other indicators.

However if you would like a better tool with more features and customizable options, you could try RW tick Chart.

Tick charts could be incompatible with some brokerages or not exact with their feeds. I stay with Renko.

This shouldn't be an issue since RW Tick Chart uses your MT4 broker feed.

However if you are using Renko and it works for you, don't change mate, just keep harvesting those pips!

Of course it all depends what you need. If you need a very simple 1-tick chart indicator, you may choose from many other indicators.

 

However if you would like a better tool with more features and customizable options, you could try RW tick Chart.

Thanks for explanation, btw you did nice job for 50$.

For one tick chart you can use the built in MT4 tick chart only you cannot put indicators on it.

Tick charts make the spikes smaller not so dangerous. Good to know when trading the news!
