The City of Cochin

Recommended Posts

Cochin, also known as Kochi is the commercial capital of Kerala. It is also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. Historical places, palaces, forts, old churches, beaches, backwaters, snake boat races, Kathakali, museums, etc. are all blended with the convenience of a big city with towering buildings, luxury homes, and business centers in Cochin. As a result of the merger of the then neighboring towns and villages of Fort Cochin, Mattanchery, Ernakulam, Edapally, Vytilla, Vennala, Thevara, etc. Kochi came into being in 1967. Today Cochin is the industrial, business and tourism capital of Kerala and is one of the largest and most important cities in Kerala. Cochin is also known to be the second most important city on the Western coast of India.

Cochin is also the only metro located in Central Kerala. It is a bustling commercial hub of Kerala due to the presence of the Airport, Railway junction, Industrial Units and Hill produce trading centers. Due to the Ayurvedic Resorts in its precincts Cochin is also becoming a Tourist Hotspot in Kerala. To meet and sustain the fast growing economic development and travel demands from within India and abroad, this city has an international airport. The increasing travel demands are due to the million NRIs of Kerala who are living abroad. In terms of growth, abounds in public sector undertakings and agro-based commodity promotion boards, City of Cochin is next only to Mumbai. There are excellent residential areas, commercial, hospitals, hotels, schools, banking and food facilities available in Cochin. Hence the increasing demands for the Cochin apartments.
