Forex: EUR/USD decline extends below 1.4200

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Euro recovery from 1.4045 low on Monday has been unable to break above 1.4345 resistance area, and the pair lost momentum ahead of Wall Street opening weighed by risk aversion amid growing uncertainty in Greece, to break below 1.4200, and hit day low at 1.4150 so far.

On the downside, immediate support lies at 1.4120 (May 17 low), and 1.4080/85 (intra-day support) and 1.4045 (May 16 low). On the upside, resistance levels lie at 1.4340/45 (May 13/20 highs), and above here, 1.4420/40 (May 9/11 highs) and 1.4590 (May 6 high).

EUR/JPY recovery from Monday´s low at 113.40 113.35 has been capped at 117.15/25 resistance area, and the pair has dropped breaking below the short-term uptrend line to reach day lows at 115.70.

Forex: AUD/USD bounces off lows as gold soars

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The Australian dollar has found an interim bottom at the 1.0610 zone where it set an intraday low and bounced back above 1.0650 helped by gold prices that climbed almost $27 in recent trade, reaching $1514 an ounce.

AUD/USD has risen around 50 pips within the last hour and currently it is testing the 20-hour SMA at the 1.0660/65 zone, virtually unchanged since opening.

On the upside, if the Aussie manages to overcome the 1.0665 zone, next resistance levels could be found at 1.0680 and 1.0700/10, while on the downside immediate supports lie at 1.0600/10, 1.0570 and 1.0530.

Forex: USD/JPY remains in ranges below 82.00

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) – US Dollar continues to move in ranges against the Yen despite risk aversion. The USD/JPY peaked on European hours at 81.85 but turned to the downside and fell to 81.47.

The area around 81.50 continues to offer support and is where today and Thursday’s low lie. The USD/JPY is moving sideways on Friday consolidating a weekly gain of a hundred pips.

“Back below 82.00 after testing and retreating from 100 DMA past Thursday, hourly chart shows indicators mostly flat yet gaining a slightly bearish tone. 4 hours chart however, show recent bullish bias prevails, as the pair continues finding support in the 20 SMA while momentum heads north quite strongly”, said Valeria Bednarik, collaborator at FXstreet.com

Against the Euro, the Yen is rising sharply on Friday supported by concerns over Greece debt crisis and risk aversion. The EUR/JPY is trimming weekly gains and is falling after rising in the previous four trading days. The pair bottomed so far at 115.50, after being unable to hold above 117.00.
