Any Linux user? What is your trading platform?

Re: Any Linux user? What is your trading platform?

I think that best ist sama virtual machine with windows.

Yeah, that was my solution, too. I have a linux box acting as router and I just installed vmware and a small XP on it. The advantage is that it's running 24/7 on a computer that would be running anyway and I can remote desktop into it whenever I want.

I realise this is a five year old thread but found it when considering installing Linux on my netbook and desktop.

Found the 'playonlinux' front end for Wine. Will install Metatrader 4 build 625 without a glitch on both Debian and Ubuntu installs.

Hope this is useful for someone, maybe in another five years time :)

The key issue, however, is that while plenty of these systems work on Linux, they are not tested on it. It is up to traders to decide for themselves whether that is enough for them or not. Personally, I would not be feeling too thrilled in entrusting bigger positions to a basically unsupported combination of software and operating system.
