Re: Any Linux user? What is your trading platform?

I have moved from Vista to Ubuntu and find it good. I also found a few good videos on youtube to help with the installations.

I installed it in Ubuntu 10.04 but I can't launch MT4. Any ideas why? Help?

        Thanks.

I realise this is a five year old thread but found it when considering installing Linux on my netbook and desktop.

Found the 'playonlinux' front end for Wine. Will install Metatrader 4 build 625 without a glitch on both Debian and Ubuntu installs.

Hope this is useful for someone, maybe in another five years time

Saya memakai Linux. Saya trading melalui Metatrader 4, mudah di-install via Wine.

You can try Amibroker in Linux, but it won`t work. AB needs Win for its copy protection scheme!

The key issue, however, is that while plenty of these systems work on Linux, they are not tested on it. It is up to traders to decide for themselves whether that is enough for them or not. Personally, I would not be feeling too thrilled in entrusting bigger positions to a basically unsupported combination of software and operating system.
