Not to mention manual trading systems from before, we have really complex arsenal here. Well, I would like to go to the basic. As basic as it can be. I would like to share something. Well, you can call it a trading system. So it's basically a way to get 100 pips in 1 trade, the idiot way. Because that's me, i'm an idiot if you are asking about where the market will go. Today is Nov 28, 2008. Yesterday US market is in holiday, so EUR is basically moving in a very small range. Looking at the daily chart, yesterday Nov 27, 2008 is a small candle. Then, at europe time, I place 2 stop orders: - 1 buy stop order at yesterday high + 10 pips which is 1.2978 - 1 sell stop order at yesterday low - 10 pips which is 1.2850 - Use 30 pips stop loss for both - Use 100 pips take profit for both Well, in the middle of England time, the sell stop order is executed, so I canceled the buy stop order. After several hours waiting, well basically I re-watched "Friends" season 2, the take profit is executed. It still went down though, up until 150 pips, if I use trailing stop. But, well, 100 pips in 1 trade in 1 day for an idiot like me is an euphoria! Of course it could be a false break, but that's easy, at least for me. What do you guys think? I also tested that kind of strategy before, and the results are somehow mixed, as sometimes, the breakout would only take 8 pips and swim down/up again, sometimes 11 pips and swim down/up, blabla2.... but overally, the results should be profit... especially those with high spread pairs. Simple methodology + Rigid Money Management rules = Good System 2. Good System + Discipline = Consistency 3. Consistency + Compounding = Trading success Never risk the house. Keep the risk to minimum. Trading must be rgarded as a business thus we need to adopt an approach to be in the game for the long run. We need to develop consistency where then we gradually become indifferent to individual results. Never underestimate the power of compounding. Start small, build on it and play safe always. (nerd) We called it the Big Dog 1400-1600 USD Breakout Strategy. (Around US OPEN) Its a simple strategy. You need not have any indicator, just the default ones found in your metatrader. Daily Profit Potentials: Around 30-50pips + All you need to do is the following:- 1. Pull out a M15 Chart for a USD Major pair, example like GBPUSD. 2. Draw a vertical line at 14:00 time on your Chart. 3. Draw a vertical line at 16:00 time on your Chart. 4. Draw a Horizontal line at the high of candles/bars in between the vertical line. 5. Draw a Horizontal line at the Low of candles/bars in between the vertical line. Thats it, Simply put a buy stop at the high and sell stop at the low with stoploss at the low (If your buying) and stoploss at the high (If your selling). Ideal Targets: Around 30-50pips or no targets if you think it can go more Trailing Stop of 15pips, if your using metatrader. Example screen. There are only 9 candles/bars in the 15 minute chart, between 1400-1600. 2. If the Distance between the high and low is less than 50-60 pips, it could be very profitable. 3. If the Distance between the high and low is more than 50-60 pips, it could be not very profitable. 4. If the price doesn't break the high/low, its a ranging market. 5. The USD news are usually released around or after the 14:00-16:00 phase. 6. Just change the magic number in the indicator for each breakout you wish to plot. input what gmt_shift of your broker Mulai = start, Akhir = end, Jumlah_Hari = number of day you want to display the indicator.
